2012 Conference Coordinator (on behalf of EDDA – Center of Excellence) of the international (10-12.05) conference In/Equalities, Democracy and the Politics of Transition. The conference was held by EDDA – Center of Excellence at the University of Iceland and Raymond Aron Center for Sociological and Political Studies (CESPRA) at the Institute of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences in Paris (EHESS) on 10-12 May 2012. As main project coordinator I worked closely with the organizing committee which consisted of Valur Ingimundarson, Professor of History at the University of Iceland, Irma Erlingsdottir, Director of EDDA, and Philippe Urfalino, Director of CESPRA and Professor at EHESS. Conference participants included: Jon Elster, The Robert K. Merton Professor of Social Sciences, Columbia University, and Professeur Titulaire, Collège de France; Pasquale Pasquino, Distinguished Professor of Politics at NYU and Senior Researcher at CNRS in France; Ruti Teitel, Ernst C. 2012 An organizer of a symposium, on 13 February 2012 at the University of Iceland, on gender, (13.02) historiography and history textbooks in upper and lower secondary schools in Iceland (on behalf of the Centre for Women’s and Gender Studies). Lecturers included Katrín Jakobsdóttir, the Icelandic Minister for Education; Guðmundur Hálfdanarson, Professor of History at the University of Iceland; and Auður Magnúsdóttir, Associate Professor of History

at Gothenburg University, Sweden.

2011 Conference Coordinator (on behalf of EDDA – Center of Excellence) of the international (21-22.09) symposium Nordic Cold War Cultures on 20-21 September 2011 at the University of Iceland. It was sponsored by NORCENCOWAR (the Nordic and North/Central European Network of Cold War Researchers), EDDA – Center of Excellence, and the Historical Institute at the University of Iceland.

2011 Conference Coordinator (on behalf of EDDA – Center of Excellence) of the international (2-3.06) conference Crisis and Renewal. Welfare States, Democracy and Equality in Hard Times. The conference was hosted by EDDA – Center of Excellence, in collaboration with the Nordic Centers of Excellence REASSESS and Nordwell, on 2-3 June 2011.
