23 Learn from highly qualified professionals with industry experience who are committed to your success. Our teachers and lecturers have lots of experience, providing you with interesting classes to help you get the very best from your course.

Jignesh Patel - ICT “My aim is to ensure that my students leave the College having achieved their maximum potential. Students are always told to think three years ahead and plan what they need to do to reach that goal. My industry experience enhances my teaching style and enables me to teach students in a way which is directly related to the real world.”

Lisa - Marie Edwards - Hairdressing

“I have over 20 years’ experience within the hairdressing industry. With this background knowledge I know I am able to not only give the students an insight on salon life, but also how to progress and promote their skills in the hairdressing industry. I teach students to fully understand that the career they have chosen is not just about training to be a hairstylist but to be an artist and one of the best in their trade.”

Chris Mcleod - Foundation studies “My aim is to inform and empower my learners – equipping them with the tools, skills and confidence to achieve their full potential. It’s always encouraging to see students do well and progress onto other courses at the College or into jobs.”

24 Lucy Miller - Dance & Drama

“My experience as a professional choreographer means I am able to offer students an experience that is as close to the professional industry as possible. As someone who has sat on the audition panel for both vocational dance schools and professional theatre productions, I know what casting directors are looking for and I am able to help our students discover and hone the appropriate skills.”

Drew Cattanach - Computing / Cybercrime & IT

“I bring a wealth of industry experience in developing content for games, broadcast and general software development. I engage in developing the students’ understanding of the UK Games and Software Development sector, the technical skills required to become successful in their chosen field and the professional practices required to excel in industry.”

Julian Wingell - Mechanical Engineering

“I believe that coming from industry gives me a big advantage and a jump start to helping the students. I previously worked with Rolls Royce and Bentley in London for almost 9 years and learnt a tremendous amount. All the knowledge I have gained over the years helps me with what I teach to the students. When they find out about my background, they are really interested and are keen to listen.”

Martina Ashton - Sport “By making learning as cutting edge as possible, we provide students with the skills that they will need to progress to university or into employment. The inclusion of “the lab” where students can experience maximal testing and learn how to coach strength and power movements, is the latest addition to aid students in achieving a deeper understanding of sport and its components. We would encourage anyone who is interested in sport to come and visit to see what we have to offer.”
