ROADS PROGRESS JANUARY REPORT 2021

1. MRoads Programme

 Workshop for Surface Dressing and strengthening Programme 2021 to be arranged when grant funding is allocated.  Jet Patcher in District as per machinery yard’s programme.

2. OPW Funding

 Currently liaising with OPW regarding Ardmore and Gold Coast.  Tender for Erosion Report in Ardmore underway as requested by OPW.

3. Coastal Repair Works

 Application for schemes in 2021 will be submitted when requested by Department.

4. TII Funding

 Funding applications will be submitted for 2021 following defect survey.

5. CIS and LIS

 CIS schemes and LIS schemes 2021 pending funding.

6. CLAR

scheme - €49,500 – footpaths underway and surfacing will following when weather permits.  Traffic Calming - €449,500– Works to commence in 2021 when weather permits.

7. Low Cost Schemes

 Schemes have been submitted for 2021. Awaiting communications on funding approval.

8. July Stimulus Package

 DTTAS Active Travel Cross Bridge St Dungarvan – first section completed. Remaining section to be completed in 2021.

9. Other works

 Dungarvan North –Road repairs ongoing in Colligan, Bohadoon, , Dungarvan and Environs. Gully cleaning and inlet opening ongoing.  Lismore West –Road repair works at Lismore area, Knockanore, Ballyduff area, Ballysaggart area, Glendine and Tallow area. Gully cleaning and inlet opening ongoing.  Lismore East –Drainage and road repair works in Area, , , Dromana, and Melleray area. Gully cleaning and inlet opening ongoing.  Dungarvan South - Drainage and road repair works underway in , Grallagh, An Rinn, and Grange and Ardmore area. Gully cleaning and inlet opening ongoing.

10. iItem Raised/Other Works n  Road lining ongoing throughout the District.  Litter and Dog fouling should be disposed of correctly and we would encourage community groups and public to be involved throughout Towns and Villages.  Spraying is limited in the District and only undertaken where necessary for major weed control. Any communities or groups wishing to assist with weed control would be greatly appreciated. This would reduce spraying.  Hedgecutting is now permitted September until February. Landowners should continue to cut their boundary hedges and trees in particular in front of public roads. Overhanging branches can become a hazard and hedges can cause visibility constraints.  Following recent weather landowners should check trees and hedges on their landholding in particular trees/hedges in line with public roads.  Cycle signs being installed at locations throughout District informing drivers to give cyclist Space – 1.5m and 1.0m as required.  Camper van parking -Connection of services once a restriction permits. Pay machine to be installed following Bye-Laws.  Cappoquin’s Pedestrian crossing –Belisha Beacons installed. Connection of light on ESB works programme.  An Rinn – Belisha Beacon works near completion. Connection of light on ESB works programme.  Crotty Corner’s Pedestrian crossing –Belisha Beacons installed – connection of lights on ESB works programme.  Davitts Quay/Walsh St - Underground cable installation underway. Installation of new public lighting poles by Airtricity completed as by tender. ESB outage planned in February to remove overhead cables and poles.  N72 Lismore to Tallow road closure proposed from Monday 8th February 2021 for 3

weeks to facilitate road surfacing works.  Proposal to advertise Crossbridge Street, Dungarvan as one way traffic system as previously piloted.  Section 38 for new layout approaching Garranbane school underway which includes footpath, school warning lights and drainage.
