I have also found that a lot of people from Los Angeles like to do business with us as well. They know we are nearby and are famil- iar with the area. “A big disadvantage (to living and working in metropolitan Los Angeles) is the traffic. It’s really awful. It takes me at least 1 hour and 50 minutes to get to work on Among the employees at TourCoach Charter & Tours are, left to right, Silvia Alas and most days. work at 9 p.m., it’s just a 35 to 40 minute trip home. It’s all about the traffic. There are people who think it’s easy to work in the Los Angeles area. They often forget that traffic is such a factor. It’s not always simple to get to work on time.” Other challenges include high fuel prices and high taxes. “The cost of doing business in Los Angeles is very high. However, I would rather live here than anywhere else. We know this area, and it’s home,” she said. Noonoosh Sapir is willing to provide customers with her email address and cell phone number — all in the name of customer service. This type of per- sonal touch allows TourCoach officials to remain focused on the needs of clients and passengers. “These people know they can easily reach key company people, including myself. They know that most of the time, I’m in the office,” she said. “There are many times I work late so I can talk with drivers who are coming back from long trips. We are very open to our employees and cus- tomers. “It’s important that employees, such as drivers, let us know what is going on. Many employees are our main representatives with clients and passen- gers. Understanding changing customer demands helps us address these needs, and can lead to updates in employee training. Therefore, it’s always good to have an open door policy in place.” She added that part of TourCoach’s niche as a transportation provider is suppling customers with quality employees and modern equipment. “We also serve a niche in our area by being a cross-country transportation provider. This is not an easy thing to do, which many of our cus- tomers understand. We provide over-the-road services for any type of client from any country. One size of service does not fit all. Our ability to match the right driver with the right group is also huge,” Noonoosh Sapir said. Service expansion has also taken place at TourCoach recently with the addition of a satel- lite office in Las Vegas. “We now have a place for clients who fly into Las Vegas and want to travel to other locations,” she said. “Having a facility in Las Vegas helps us avoid deadhead trips to and from Los Angeles.”
