With its strong Hawaiian roots, Stand Up Paddling (SUP) has quickly become a mainstream sport, appealing to a huge range of users due to it accessibility and variety. Fanatic started with SUP boards back in 2011, by using our Boardsport expertise “since 81” , we have been a key leader and pioneer in the sport from the start. SUP is not only a sport, it’s also a lifestyle, with a great community. Newcomers are warmly welcomed, you meet a lot of great people and you can discover a whole new world of coastlines and lakes with a SUP.
KARIN GERTENBACH SUP is by far the easiest to access watersport, with a HEAD OF MARKETING broad range of users varying from professional wave riders, downwind racers & long distance record breakers; all the way through to yoga & fitness enthusiasts, or families & kids just having fun at the beach or lake. SUP has an extremely high female participation rate, you can start right away and have fun, with the added benefit of improving your health along – the way. –
02 In my job as Head of Marketing for Fanatic, I love connecting 03 people via SUP – women, yogis, racer, surfers. It’s great – – to step into new niches and making new connections all over again. Being a women and a dedicated yogi myself, I personally love to promote that side of the sport, however I also love to watch races and join the excitement with our riders. Whenever I get the chance, I love to go for a SUP tour with my family or friends, or ride on the occasional wave! Sustainability is a key issue for us going forward, working on products with the least possible strain on natural resources, whilst offering the longest life cycle is our goal – and working with dedicated paddlers and organizations to raise awareness of the current pollution issues in our oceans and waterways, all part of a broader sustainability programme for our company as a whole. At Fanatic we are building composites and inflatable SUPs that will allow you to enjoy the stoke and progress in our wonderful sport, no matter what level you are at and what designs you like. We’re consuming a large number of fossile fuels to develop, produce, transport and ultimately also get to the FLY spot and ride our boards. Being out there itself is clean and the best we can do – but the way to get there leaves a trail. We at Fanatic are well aware of this and we’re taking action to reduce our trail as much as we can – and more! In order to OFFER YOU AN AFFORDABLE, long lasting PRODUCT THAT’S AS ECO-FRIENDLY AS POSSIBLE, we’re optimizing the entire process to save fuels, plastics and energy on the production side and support carbon offset projects to balance our consumption on the other side. It’s a continuous process we’re pushing together with our partners to protect ECO what we love.
