Pilicode is a village in Kasaragod district in the state of Kerala, India. Community Development Society functioning under the leadership of CDS chairperson Leena.V made many implementations in assisting Kudumbashree Neighborhood groups for the last 3 years. With the convergence of Kudumbashree district mission and panchayat, CDS team made remarkable changes in Pilicode panchayat through Kudumbashree network. Challenges made by continuous floods and Covid pandemic are not hindered their development activities. Through Janakeeya Hotel and Community Kitchen initiative in convergence with panchayat made a huge impact in society. Community Development Societies involvement in farm livelihood, Nonfarm livelihood, |Gender programmes, Micro Finance and Social Development programmes made Pilicode CDS one of the best CDS in Kasaragod district. CDS development activities received enough support from panchayat, Kudumbashree District Mission and from 5000+ Kudumbashree families. By understanding the needs of the community, present CDS team implemented their activities successfully with the participation of maximum NHG members. CDS always tried to assist their
members by arranging grants, loans and all possible financial and skilling supports by putting 2
efforts in achieving maximum convergences with all possible agencies. Page

Kudumbashree School Programme conducted in a successful manner. So that Kudumbashree members received more information about Kudumbashree schemes and activities. Chakka – Mango fest and Karkkidaka Kanji fests organized by Kudumbashree CDS received very good response from the public. Kudumbashree Community Development Society created opportunities and gave supports for all kind of beneficiaries which includes women, children, elderly people and vulnerable sections through the implementation of various projects designed by the government especially through Kudumbashree Mission.
Remarkable services of CDS during Flood & Covid Situations:
During the flood disaster periods CDS and ADS committees sponsored maximum contributions through financial and material supports along with their voluntary services in dealing the situation. CDS continued its valuable supports in Covid outbreak period also by running Community Kitchen, arranging fund and materials for its operation, free mask distribution to public, free vegetable sponsorship for Community Kitchen and by giving free online-telephonic counseling sessions through Community Counselors for quarantine people having high mental depressions, CDS made incomparable services for the public. CDS also supported the public through their voluntary services in pension distribution process, food and medicine free purchasing services etc during lock down periods. For assisting and promoting home based online education, CDS sponsored a smart phone for one economically backward student. CDS also took a major role by arranging Covid loans for the members to tackle their financial needs.
Nattu chantha activities are conducting regularly and received great responses during festival
seasons.

LIVELYHOODS:
The mission of the Livelihoods programmes is to support the efforts of agricultural and rural communities to restore the natural ecosystems that are the foundations of their livelihoods, food security and income. Pilicode CDS engaged in both farm and nonfarm activities to ensure local economic development through women collectives.

Haritha Karma Sena activities
CDS Started Janakeeya Hotel, Community Kitchen and Haritha Karma Sena activities with the support of grama panchayat and Kudumbashree networks. By addressing the needs of public in Covid scenario, Kudumbashree CDS made lot of efforts in convergence with local body. One of the best examples was Community Kitchen initiative made with the support of NHG members and Kudumbashree units. After the one month for free food delivery services, Community Kitchen was transformed into Janakeeya Hotel in May 4 2020. Currently Janakeeya Hotel is running successfully in Pilicode panchayt under the ownership of a Kudumbashree unit.

Through the convergence with panchayat, in 2018-19 CDS received 3,56,000 fund support for supporting Kudumbashree members. Fund support from panchayat increased to 5,76,000 rupees in next financial year through the timely utilization and mutual cooperation of CDS with panchayat. CDS utilized this fund for managing Ashraya house repair, Balasabha and Gender Sensitization programmes etc.

DDUGKY Capacity Building Session at Pilicode
Inorder to familiarise DDUGKY Programme at block level, special Capacity building workshops conducted at Pilicode Grama Panchayat hall (Neeleswar block). Panchayat representatives & CDS representatives of all panchayats under the block attended the programme.
As part of chief ministers ‘Sahaya Hastham programme’, 2573 NHG families applied for loan under the leadership of CDS. Pilicode CDS also managed to arrange employment opportunities for 13 more Kudumbashree members in this tenure,
