NEW YORK RED BULLS VS. D.C. UNITED CULMINATES MLS HEINEKEN RIVALRY WEEK

Atlantic Cup Showdown Airs in Prime Time On FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes This Sunday

Los Angeles -- 's Heineken Rivalry Week returns for the second time this season and features some of the league’s most storied matchups. The action culminates in prime time this Sunday, August 29 on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes, with one of American soccer’s most bitter rivalries, the 82nd Atlantic Cup clash between D.C. United and the Red Bulls.

FOX Sports 1’s coverage kicks off live from Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey at 7:00 PM ET. Lead FOX Sports 1 MLS play-by-play announcer John Strong calls the match alongside analyst and U.S. Soccer Hall of Famer Alexi Lalas. FOX Sports soccer insider and Sports Illustrated Senior Contributor Grant Wahl reports from the sideline. FOX Deportes' Spanish- language broadcast features play-by-play announcer Samuel Jacobo with analysis from former MLS player Claudio Suarez. D.C. United, also competing in the CONCACAF Champions League tournament being televised by FOX Sports, has been in the top spot of the MLS’ Eastern Conference for most of the season, while New York sits only five points back. The midseason additions of former English Premier League star Shaun Wright-Phillips and Argentine Gonzalo Verón have sparked the Red Bulls, current holders of the Atlantic Cup trophy, to a six-game unbeaten streak.

In addition, three other rivalry matches highlight the weekend’s action including the California Clásico featuring the battling the LA Galaxy; the 401 Derby with the Impact facing FC; the Cascadia Cup clash between the and Seattle Sounders FC (4:30 PM ET on ESPN), which immediately precedes FOX Sports 1’s Red Bulls-United telecast on Sunday.
