Day 1 - London To Amsterdam
There are currently two direct services a day running from London direct to Amsterdam. We recommend the early one, leaving in the morning, so that you make the most of your time in the Dutch capital. The journey takes around 3 hours, 45 minutes and you’ll arrive into Amsterdam’s central station at lunchtime. Make your way to the JL 76 Hotel (or similar) where you will have a 2-night stay. Once you’ve settled in, you have a free afternoon and evening to begin your explorations.
Day 2 - Amsterdam
Canals, bikes and beautiful museums are just some of the attractions that await in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam. Take time to visit the Anne Frank House, where Anne Frank wrote her now world-famous diaries, whilst in hiding from the Nazis during the occupation of the city. Elsewhere, art lovers will want to visit the historic Rijksmuseum and the impressive Van Gogh Museum. It’s easy to get around on foot but you can also cruise around the canals or blend in with the locals by hiring a bike.
Days 3 & 4 - Luxembourg City
Leave Amsterdam aboard a regional train bound for Maastricht. You will need to change here and in the Belgian city of Liege to get to Luxembourg. But you have ‘open’ tickets so you can hop on any train and take as long as you like to get to your destination. Once in Luxembourg, check in at the Grand Hotel Cravat (or similar) for a 2-night stay. Luxembourg is probably one of the prettiest European capitals with its UNESCO World Heritage listed Old Town and hilltop position. The first city to be named European Capital of Culture twice, Luxembourg has plenty of attractions along with Michelin starred cuisine.
Days 5 & 6 - Brussels
A direct train takes you from Luxembourg back to Brussels, where you have 2 nights at the centrally located Dominican Hotel (or similar). Whilst Luxembourg juggles three languages, Brussels only has to cater for two – French and Flemish, the two national languages of Belgium. You’ll find French the dominant language here, when you are looking around one of the many interesting museums, or ordering a plate of moules frites at a restaurant near the stunning Grand Place. Don’t miss a visit to Train World in nearby Schaarbeek!
Day 7 - Brussels To London
You have a free day in Brussels today, before your Eurostar service back to the UK. Spend some more time looking around the city, or perhaps take an easy journey by train to the medieval cities of Ghent and Bruges. You can buy tickets for this at the station, or ask us to include them with your package. ?At the end of the day, return to Brussels Midi and catch your scheduled train back to London.
