Last Sunday two members ofthe Duke Cyclist Racing Team opened their season with a 25-mile race at Towson State College in Baltimore. Ed Deming and Tom Stouffer captured third place and sixth place, respectively, in the Class A race. They were the only two riders from the same team to place in the top 10. Although Duke had no riders in the Class B event, the Blue Devils finished fifth in the team standings out of 15 teams despite having only two riders. Princeton's nine member team took top honors. Deming and Stouffer felt certain that with additional riders Duke could have captured first place. The racing team is open to undergrads, graduate students, faculty and other members of the college community.
