NOW IMAGINE the excitement on Election Day after all of our twenty-eight women candidates are voted into office. This can only happen if we, as caucus members, work individually or in tandem to motivate everyone we know to get to the polls or VOTE BY MAIL. On Saturday, October 3rd, select a public location such as post office, bus stop, municipal building, or any other public building to distribute a handful of Vote by Mail Ballot applications. And...if you have an hour or two to spare between now and November 3rd, please use that time to get the Vote Out.

Let’s all share in the joy of Election Day—turn Monmouth County BLUE!

Haven: Assemblyman Wisniewski gave us valuable advice about dealing with the anticipated low-voter turnout when assembly races are at the top of the ticket. He told us an aggressive effort to get voters to the polls could result in catching our opponents off guard and pulling off an upset. Doris: The Assemblyman said “Without any account- ability, bad things happen.” This is why it’s so danger- ous for a town to be under a one-party rule for so long. It’s time for a change. ______Guest Speaker John Wisniewski has served as Deputy Speaker of the General Assembly since 2004. He is the Co-Chairman of the NJ Legislative Committee on Investigation, leading the investigation into the Bridge-gate scandal. He also chairs the Transportation & Independent Authorities Haven Franklin, Doris Lin and Committee. Assemblyman John Wisniewski

Three popular explanations for the clear under-representation of women in management are: (1) they are not capable; (2) they are not interested; (3) they are both interested and capable but unable to break the glass-ceiling—that invisible career barrier that prevents women from accessing the ranks of power. Women are Capable! Women are Interested! Women can break through the Glass-Ceiling!

Studies have shown that displays of confidence are often misinterpreted as signs of competency, fooling us into believing that men are better leaders than women which results in the election of self-centered, over-confident charismatic individuals who lack leadership potential. There is now compelling scientific evidence that women are more likely to adopt more effective leadership strategies than do men and are more likely to elicit respect and pride from co-workers over their male counterparts. Women are able to communicate their vision effectively and approach problem- solving in a more flexible and creative way, outperforming men on emotional intelligence. 28 Monmouth County Women Candidates in 2015! Let’s work together to support their efforts, and begin our search for more women candidates in 2016!
