Constructability Since the station is eligible for the National Register due Construction Phasing to its importance in railroad history, SEPTA retained the Cost Estimates Urban Engineers (Urban) Team to address the station's Communications Signal Design Changes significant state of disrepair. Urban led a team who goal was to preserve the tradition and the functionality of the station. Elements of this Improvement project included:
• Bus route planning, operational analysis and cost estimates to extend bus routes to make the station more of a hub • Design Alternatives Analysis • Consolidation of service on the R7 Chestnut Hill East line onto one track on the west side of the new high-level platform to improve safety. • • Rehabilitation of the historic station, including platforms, baggage room building, waiting room building, and canopies; • Removal and replacement of canopies; • Installation of elevators and ramps to provide access to the high-level platforms; • Construction of a new high-level platform and increased access to the inbound and outbound platforms; • Rehabilitation of passenger and baggage tunnels and stairways from Wayne and Germantown Avenues; and • Construction Cost Estimates
