New York Comic-Con: Marvel's 'Iron Fist' to Premiere in March 10.09.2016 At New York Comic-Con on Saturday, Netflix and Marvel revealed a new trailer for its latest superhero series, Iron Fist, which will premiere on the streaming service on March 17. Iron Fist tells the story of billionaire Danny Rand (Game of Thrones' Finn Jones) who has returned to New York after being missing for years. During the years he was gone, he trained in kung-fu and learned to summon the power of the mysterious Iron Fist. Iron Fist will be the fourth in Marvel's superhero series, joining Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage and leading up to al of those heroes joining up in The Defenders, expected to premiere sometime next year. Marvel also produces a sixth superhero series for Netflix, The Punisher, which stars The Walking Dead's Jon Bernthal and was spun off of Daredevil. Marvel and Netflix announced at NYCC that True Blood's Deborah Ann Woll would be joining the cast. Also joining The Defenders is Sigourney Weaver in an as-yet unannounced role. "Marvel is honored to have an actress of her caliber and status join what is already our biggest show ever! She is by definition a class act," said Jeph Loeb, executive producer and head of Marvel Television, in a statement. All of the stars of the upcoming The Defenders - Jones, Daredevil's Charlie Cox, Jessica Jones' Krysten Ritter and Mike Colter (Luke Cage) appeared on stage together for the first time at NYCC, along with the stars of Iron First..
