This championship is the highest age group and opens the door to play basketball in the open grade and the prestigious BBNZ leagues not to mention possible ANBL and ANWNBL opportunities. This tournament also falls at an important time of the year with Mother’s Day on Sunday. The modern Mother’s Day is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world as a day to honour mothers and motherhood. Think of Mum on Sunday, have a great time, make new friends, play great basketball and enjoy this high level competition. Best wishes and Happy Mother’s Day to our mums. Yours in basketball Tim Hamilton CEO 2 2010 BBNZ Under 21 Mens and Womens National Championship Tournament – Nelson Welcome from Nelson Basketball Association Kia Ora – Welcome to Nelson The Nelson Basketball Association extends a warm welcome to all players, coaches, managers, referees, team personnel and supporters attending the U21 National Championship Tournament. We hope you will enjoy the highlights of the Nelson Tasman region and have included in the team packs events and activities on during the tournament that may appeal to everyone. We are looking to showcase our new five court Saxton Stadium for two days of the tournament and finish with the semis and finals at Trafalgar Centre in town where the viewing and atmosphere are first class. We have ordered another four days of fantastic sunny weather for you to enjoy and hopefully you won’t be disappointed. Remember Market Day on Saturday in Nelson and Motueka on Sunday. As always, we do our best to make your tournament a successful one for all, so please do not hesitate in contacting us if you need any clarification on any issue.
