WINTER QUARTER CLASSES for the Women's Studies Program are ''Special Topics: Images of Women in Literature,",Engl. 1593), nwomen in American History," (Hist. 3357), "Topics in Human Sexuality," (Psych. 3215), "Men and Women in American Society," (Soc. 5155), and "Senior Seminar, Part I, 11 (WS 3900). An additional course "Contemporary Philosophical Issues: Feminism," (Phl. 346) will be offered at the College of St. Scholastica - (CSS). More informa­ tion available from the Women's Studies Office, 726-7953. SPRING COURSES Individuals teaching spring quarter courses that will be of interest to Women's Studies students should notify the Women's Studies Office (726-7953)as soon as possible. WOMEN'S COORDINATING COMMITTEE will hold its first winter quarter meeting at 3 p.m., Tuesday, December 1st in Kirby 355. The November 24th meeting has been cancelled. Students interested in serving on the WCC should contact Charolotte Macleod, 726-7970. HILL VISITING PROFESSORSHIP NOMINATION of Megan Terry has been approved by the Hill Committee for Spring 1983. Anticipated duties include teaching, lectures and workshops. Suggestions for other activities are welcomed by Sharon Friedler, (726-8563) and Susan Coultrap-McQuin (726-7953). Nomination was made jointly by UMD Theatre Dept. and WS Program.

FEMINIST PERSPECTIVES: WORDS11 AND IMAGES series continues in with "Approaches to Feminist Arts Education (Dec. 10) and "Valentines Day Reading: Women Poets" (Jan. 29). More information on the series, sponsored by women's collective WARM, from WS Office. WISE WOMEN RADIO ARTS FAIR BENEFIT, sponsored by WDTH Radio from noon - 7 p.m .. Dec. 4th in UMD Rafters will feature a craft sale, live music by women, and films about women. Individuals who wish to exhibit hand made arts and crafts may reserve a table at $8 by contacting Jean Johnson, WDTH, 726-7181. WOMEN IN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY WORKSHOP Oct. 31 was a big success with more than 135 women participating in the day-long event at UMD and CSS. Comments from participants and presenters were very positive, according to coordinator Bilin Tsai who wishes to thank everyone who supported and helped. RAJENDER CONSENT DECREE Dec. 1 is the deadline for women filing claims. Information and advice on filing a claim can be obtained from Faculty Advisory Committee for Women, 180 Library, 726-7117 or 724-6126. FEMALE GYNECOLOGIST If you are interested in inviting a female gynecologist to practice in Duluth, contact Beth Bartlett, 242 HE, 726-7250, to put your name on a growing list of women who feel the same way. When enough people sign the list, advertisements will be placed in appro�riate journals. CONGRATULATIONS JOYCE BENSON on being appointed to the Special Needs Committee of the Governor's Council on Employment and Training. AWARDS AND FELLOWSHIPS Information on several awards and fellowships are available at the Women's Studies Office. These include: Ruth Stranq Rese arch Award of $500 for women deans, administrators and counselors, deadline is Jan. 1st; Women Educators ''Curr iculum Materials Award," entries must be postmarked Dec. 15th; Kellogg National Fellowship Program to help individuals who hold academic, practitioner or administrative positions on the staffs of selected institutions; Research on Women i n Education Award for published or unpublished research award, deadline December 1st. POSITIONS AVAILABLE: Information on a women's studies faculty position at Twin Cities campus in women's biology and behavior is available from the Women's Studies Office. Harvard Divinity School announces five full-time positions for 1982-83 as research associate and visiting lecturer in its new Women's Studies in Religion Program. Application deadline is December 1st. COMMITTEE POSITIONS: Women are needed to apply to vacancies on state boards and committees v1ith appointive positions to be filled after January 1st.
