How to get to Maison d'Être in Saint Cirq Lapopie

BY CAR: If you have a GPS navigation system, here are the village's coordinates: North 44° 28' 0" East 1° 40' 0" Or you can enter “Rue de La Pelissaria, Saint Cirq Lapopie”

 From : About 6 Hours. The quickest way down is via the A20, which starts at Vierzon, some 60 odd miles south of Orleans, and continues south via Chateauroux, and Brive to Cahors. If you come via Paris, take the peripherique and follow signs for , to leave on the A10. Then take the A71 to Orleans.

 From : About 1.75 hours. Follow signs to Paris and Bordeaux on the A62. 25 miles or so north of Toulouse, leave the A62 for the A20 on exit 10, following signs for and Paris. This Auto Route is a toll road (“Peage”). 35 miles later, leave the A20 on exit 58, following signs for Cahors.

NOTE: Your GPS will want to take you on a VERY windy and circuitous route to the village via and the South side of the river. Do NOT pay attention to it. Drive in to Cahors and then out to Saint Cirq Lapopie ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE RIVER. Here is a map of the route that we recommend strongly to take, especially from Cahors to Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. It is part of the most beautiful 100Km in . The road has dramatic overhangs. The approach to the village from across the river is stunning!

BY RAIL: From Paris, take the train to Toulouse train from the Gare d'Austerlitz which stops at Cahors. It's a 5-6 hour journey, depending on the time of day. The SNCF website provides schedules and fares. It is about 60 Euros per person to Cahors. You can rent a car at Cahors train station from Avis (+33 565 30 13 10 NOTE: they are not open on Saturday or Sunday) or Hertz (+33 565 35 34 69 NOTE: not so near the Rail Station). You will likely want a car when you are at the gite. Although more than one guest has managed with walking, buses and taxis. The bus is about 5 Euros per person from Cahors to Tour de Faure. It leaves approximately every 30 min. from the train station and is timed to leave right after the train arrives from Paris or Toulouse. Get off in Tour de Faure. It is a 20 min. walk uphill to the village from there.
