Day 1: Trier

We meet in the morning in the town of Luxembourg • After a short transfer and a bike safety talk, commence your ride in Diekirch where we follow the Sûre river to its confluence with the Mosel • Stop for lunch in the pedestrian street of the old monastic town of Echternach, and visit the nearby orangery gardens • Follow bike paths from Luxembourg into Germany on your way to your comfortable hotel in the ancient city of Trier, founded more than 2,000 years ago by the Romans • Then feast on hearty local specialties tonight! • (D) Overnight at Hotel Eurener Hof

Day 2: Neumagen

Before leaving Trier behind, make sure you visit some of the town's main historic places • Explore Roman ruins and reconstructed Roman villas en route to Neumagen and stop in famous wine villages like Trittenheim before arriving at your charming, newly renovated hotel • Neumagen produces a variety of award-winning wines and you'll get to enjoy an exceptional wine tasting before dinner • After a delicious meal prepared by the owner of the hotel, retreat to your room for a restful night • (B, D) Overnight at Hotel Lekker

Day 3: Zeltingen

Day 4: Cochem

Follow the river as it twists and loops past bustling river towns offering opportunities to shop, snack, and taste wine • The cycling is easy and enjoyable, the scenery is lush, green, and delightful • The gated bridge in the twin town of Traben-Trarbach is the perfect setting for sampling some famous German apple strudel with coffee or hot chocolate milk • Arrive in Cochem and spend the rest of the evening wandering the streets of this quaint tourist town or relax in the spa at the hotel • (B) Overnight at Hotel Kessler-Meyer

Day 5: Koblenz

Vineyards cover the bordering hills like a patchwork quilt, cascading below the area's many castles • Cochem's impressive castle is in plain sight of the bike path, but for Burg Eltz - today’s highlight - a pleasant 30-minute walk through the woods is well worth your while • Tonight join the group for a farewell dinner at one of cosmopolitan Koblenz's premier eateries • (B, L, D) Overnight at Hotel Mercure

Day 6: Koblenz

Enjoy a delicious breakfast from the hotel’s buffet before getting ready to head home or travel to other European destinations • At the time of your liking, your guide will transfer you to the train station in Koblenz for your departure home • (B)

Discovery: Enjoy a relaxing ride on safe bicycle paths amid the bucolic beauty of Germany’s premier wine growing region. Learn the difference between the various wine quality indications such as Kabinett, Spätlese, Auslese, Beerenauslese and Eiswein. Climb the footpath to the castle ruins of Beilstein for a postcard-perfect view of the valley. Don’t miss the side trip to visit medieval Burg Eltz, a wonderful castle tucked deep in the forest. Discover Germany’s fascinating Roman past, enjoy a wine tasting or two, and marvel in serene pleasure at the Mosel’s timeless charm. This promises to be a regal experience highlighted by charming inns, simple, yet superb cuisine, hearty beers and fine white wines.

Originally a country inn, Hotel Eurener Hof is now a romantic four- star hotel, situated two miles from the center of Trier. Four generations later, it still offers a friendly atmosphere and personalized service. Its traditional architecture has been restored by master craftsmen using natural materials such as hewn stone, wood and textiles. Staying here is like being in a country house in the city. The hotel has an excellent restaurant where you taste a variety of local cuisine while enjoying the famous Mosel wines. Facilities include a spa, fitness center and heated swimming pool.

Night 2: Hotel Lekker

Set beautifully near the Mosel River, Hotel Lekker is situated in a monumental building dating back to 1779. This intimate hotel is family-run and consists of 11 junior suites. Enjoy elegant accommodations with modern facilities surrounded by vineyards and forests. Its restaurant serves – as its name suggests – tasty dishes.

Night 3: Hotel St. Stephanus

Near the historical market square, Hotel St. Stephanus is set in a sunny spot along the banks of the Mosel River. Rooms have views of the river or vineyards. It has an indoor pool and a wine tavern with riverside terrace. The spa offers massages, beauty treatments and a sauna and solarium. In addition to elegant accommodations, you will also enjoy succulent dishes from the first-class kitchen.

Night 4: Hotel Kessler-Meyer

Only minutes away from the beautiful, narrow streets full of sh ops, galleries and restaurants of Cochem’s town center, the four -star Hotel Kessler-Meyer in the village of Sehl has comfortable rooms with balconies and a spa whose facilities include a modern gym, sauna, hot tub and beauty center. A modern four-star hotel, Hotel Mercure is located on the Rhine River in the center of Koblenz. Enjoy exceptional accommodations and an attentive staff. Amenities include a 24-hour gym, sauna and a riverside terrace. Its restaurant is famous for serving its breakfast buffet.

Arrival and Departure

Prior to your trip, arrive at your own convenience in Luxembourg City. On Day 1, we will meet you in the lobby of Mercure Grand Hotel Alfa in Luxembourg at 8:30 a.m. After a briefing and a short transfer to Diekirch, the cycling begins. After breakfast on Day 6 we take you to the train station in Koblenz or we can transfer you back to Luxembourg (latter involves a 2-hour transfer).
