OVER 230 YEARS OF PASSION FOR A QUALITY, WITHOUT COMPROMISES.

FRATELLI BRANCA DISTILLERIE REVEALS THE LATEST ADDITION TO CARPANO RANGE

Milan, 16 September 2019 – From over two-centuries’ of passion and knowledge for a quality without compromises comes Carpano Botanic Bitter, the new contemporary premium Bitter by Carpano. It was in 1786 when Carpano created the first in Turin. From that moment, the brand became famous throughout Italy and later worldwide for its passion, its careful selection and combination of natural ingredients, using a traditional method. The experience in crafting great Italian spirits that has always marked Branca and Carpano style has today, 233 years later, produced Carpano Botanic Bitter, which represents a new milestone in the brand’s journey, blending know-how and passion for high quality without compromises. The harmonious richness of flavours at first sip conveys the care and expertise in selecting and balancing a range of 10 precious botanical ingredients infused with artisanal method. This make up the heart of Carpano Botanic Bitter. The result is a unique and unmatchable recipe crafted recovering traditional notes and giving them a new life to offer the best of quality in cocktail preparation. The melody is composed of elegant and unusual nuances in a juxtaposition of spicy, citrusy, sweet and aromatic notes. Noble Saffron adds warm aromatic sweet spicy notes to the bouquet., while Sandalwood, from the Indian and South-East Asian forests, provides its unique balsamic aroma thanks to the essential oils of its bark, adding scented and floral notes. Cinchona, the precious bark of a South American plant, instead gives its unmistakable bitter note. The surprising fresh zest of Green orange from Italy with its tangy, citrusy notes accompanies the complex, citric aromas of the dried zest of Bitter Orange from Mediterranean. Rhubarb, native from China, brings lightness and freshness, with a bittersweet and woody touch, balancing with the aromatic, spicy notes of the Zedoary, grown mainly in India and famous for its anti-inflammatory properties.

Gentian, originally from mountainous areas in Europe and with appetite-stimulating properties, has floral notes and a “peppery” taste, balancing out the strong, aromatic characteristic of Myrrh, the legendary spice from the Arabian peninsula, it has been known since ever for its antiseptic and antibacterial properties and and owes its name to the Semitic word Murr, which means “bitter”. The bouquet is rounded off with some precious Piedmontese Wormwood, with its very strong bitter taste, famous for its digestive properties.

Tasting Notes With a ruby red color, the first impact on the nose is Marasca cherry with a pleasant balsamic note of Eucalyptus and lemon leaves. It has an initial sweet and balanced taste of citrus fruits and plantain trees, with a hint of barley, fresh almonds and essential oils of not-yet-ripe orange buds. As closure we have a spicy note of zadoariavery similar to a delicate infusion of ginger, with a long bittering note of myrrh and gentian. Slight taste of banana peel and china create a pleasant final astringency. 25% VOL. One litre bottle.
