At last, I left teaching behind and came to Avondale to search God's Word for a more solid faith, and to gather together the threads of life and personality so that I might have a stable character with which to work for Jesus in the harvest field, especially amongst the children and the weary in mind. Avondale is to me a haven—a place of refuge where new strength of body and mind, new knowledge, and inspiration may be gained. It is possible for all, old or young, to come to Avondale and work their way through, for God is a wonderful provider, and has not let me want during this year. My mother has become reconciled to my beliefs, though she has no personal in- terest in them.
