Tickets

Tickets will be available for pre-purchase online next week. Due to the size of the Championships we strongly encourage everyone to pre-purchase their tickets to avoid queues prior to the Opening Ceremony.

We will advise when these are on sale next week. Prices as per below:

Daily Weekly

Family (2A + 2C) or (1A + 3C) $35 $175

Adult (over 18) $15 $75

Concession/Pension $10 $40

Child (Aged 10-16) $10 $40

Child (Under 10) Free Free

Training

All teams have been allocated a training session on the Sunday 25th September as per the attached schedule. If you do not wish to use your training session, please advise Martin McLean [email protected]

Teams are also offered one hour training free of charge each day during the championships. If you wish to book in a training session please complete the attached Training Request Form and return by Monday 5th September, 2016.

Media Schedule

All teams have been allocated a media session time. Media sessions will include official team and individual photos with Kangaroo Photos as well as Club Pride photos and interviews with ’s media team.

As in 2015, we will be running the Club Pride campaigns to encourage all the association members at home to get on board and support their teams. We encourage all teams to bring along any props, mascots or flags to use in their Club Pride photos.

Welcome Function & Technical Meeting

The Welcome Function & Technical Meeting will be held at 7pm on Sunday 25th September at Souths Merewether – 46 Llewellyn Street, Merewether.

This event is compulsory for all Head Coaches and Team Managers and will provide you will all the important information for the championships. It is also a great opportunity to meet the Technical Committee, Local Organising Committee and ask any questions you may have.

Teams will be provided with their information packs, accreditation and programs at the meeting.

Light refreshments will be served.

Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony will be held at 9am on Monday 26th September at Maitland Federation Centre. Teams are requested to arrive at 8:40am for marshalling and to dress in team casual uniform/tracksuit. Please wear enclosed footwear and no headwear.

Closing Ceremony

The Closing Ceremony and medal presentations will all take place immediately following the Boys Championship Gold Medal game at Newcastle Basketball Stadium. This will be at approximately 8:30pm. All teams are required to be in attendance and dress the same as the Opening Ceremony.

Uniforms

Just a quick reminder regarding uniforms, teams are not permitted to use the event logo on their uniforms.

Any uniforms with sponsor logos must be sent to Basketball Australia for approval prior to the championships.

Uniforms must be numbered 4-15, 20-25, 30-35, 40-45, 50-55 only.

Team Staff Dress Code: Team staff are required to wear dress pants/skirt with team polo as a minimum.

Basketballs

The official basketball of the championship is Spalding TF-1000 Legacy. Basketball Australia will provide warm up and game balls for the duration of the championship.

Teams will need to provide their own basketballs for training.

Photography

Kangaroo Photos will be on site capturing every moment of the championships. Further information will be available shortly.

Merchandise iAthletic, the official merchandise partner of the Helloworld Australian Junior Championships, will be on site at both Newcastle and Maitland with a great range of championship merch.
