Monday, Feb. 9- Thursday, Feb. 19 BLUES OUTREACH The Saskatoon Blues Society will once again bring blues artists and their music to residents of 12 long-term care facilities across the City. The SBS appreciates the opportunity to extend the festival experience throughout the City. Check website for Outreach schedule.

Tuesday, Feb. 17- Friday, Feb. 20 “AIN’T NO BULLIES IN BLUES” CAMP The Blues Camp gives youth aged 12 to 17 a mixture of hands-on musical instruction on their choice of voice, guitar, drums, bass or harmonica, combined with a blues history lesson. Practicing and performing together, students are encouraged to build their improvisation and performance skills, learning teamwork and discipline. Students will show their new skills at live performances February 21 and 28 at the Buds on Broadway jam.

Sunday, Feb. 22 “AIN’T ABOUT THE MONEY” DOCUMENTARY FILM PREMIERE Broadway Theatre, 715 Broadway Avenue Doors 6:30pm, Film 7pm Q&A with Big Dave McLean and the Filmmaker to follow Free admission. The Saskatoon Blues Society is proud to present a premiere screening of a Konofilm Inc. documentary about Saskatoon’s adopted bluesman, Big Dave McLean, his journey in the blues, and the fulfillment in 2014 of his life-long dream to visit the famed “Crossroads of the Blues” in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Holger Peterson, host of CBC is one of the co- producers. A question and answer period with Big Dave and the filmmaker, Charles Konowal, will follow the screening.

Monday, Feb. 23 – Friday, Feb. 27 BLUES IN THE SCHOOLS BITS is an international youth outreach program dedicated to teaching youth about blues music and its’ historical and social context. Valuable lessons on racism, class conflict and music history are presented in an accessible and interesting way. Rick Fines, Braithwaite & Whiteley, and Morgan Davis are the 2015 featured artists. SASKATOON BLUES SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP The Saskatoon Blues Society promotes, fosters and celebrates blues music in Saskatoon by organizing an annual Blues Festival and presenting artists at performances throughout the year. The SBS is a non-profit organization, part of a national network of Blues societies and a member of the international Blues Foundation. Membership is $10 and is open to anyone with an interest in the Blues.
