Children ’s Ministries Appreciation Day at Canobie Lake Park was Monday, July 2. What a wonderful way to celebrate the service and sacrifice of the children and families of this collaborative who enhance our liturgies all year long by their commitment to music ministry, the child lector program and service at Holy Mass. Thank you!!

Please pray for our “captains, crews and castaways ” as they encounter Jesus in inspiring, engaging and fun ways. This year, we are exploring Sacred Scripture, The Sign of the Cross, Domestic Church, Forgiveness, and the Corporal Works of Mercy on a deserted island. July 9 -13. VBS Prayer Heavenly Father, let the changes in your children’s hearts this week be an inspiration to their families. Let parents and caretakers pursue a deeper relationship with you. Give kids strength to stand firmly rooted in their faith. Help their relationship with you grow through Christ our Lord, Amen .

Each year, the children who attend Vacation Bible School undertake a service project which allows reaching beyond one ’s self to help others. Again this year, the Collaborative of Sacred Heart and Saint Thomas More Parishes is supporting “Team Heart ”. Our collaborative connection with “Team Heart ” began through a parishioner, Nurse Practitioner Julie Carragher, who participates directly in the TEAM HEART mission each year by traveling to Rwanda with a medical team to provide cardiac care to children and adolescents who suffer from advanced rheumatic heart disease. Their mission includes the establishment of a sustainable regional center of excellence in cardiac care. The Regional Center includes cardiac surgery, a heart catheterization lab, rehabilitation and prevention, research and education in partnership with Rwanda local partners , support advocacy, and reduction in poverty for marginalized individuals suffering from cardiac disease. Please see www.teamheart.org for more information. Volunteers will be at the doors of the churches next weekend to collect your donations. Thank you!
