Daily briefing – 22/04/2020 Latest information and guidance for all GMMH staff Dear colleague, Today, we would like to focus on the vital work which is taking place across our community services. As you know, we have had to transform the way we deliver services in the community to ensure social distancing and public heath safety guidelines are followed. Over the last month, community staff have worked tirelessly to ensure core services continue to be carried out. As many appointments as possible are being carried out over the telephone to help service users remain in contact with their clinical teams. Thanks to joint-working with IM&T, online consultations for IAPT were rolled out incredibly quickly so that treatment could be continued. A 24/7 helpline for all service users and carers was set up as soon as possible and received over 1500 calls its first ten days. Some face to face appointments, home visits and the delivery of medications remained vitally important and community staff have gone above and beyond to ensure this continues as safely as possible. Substance misuse services have also worked innovatively with the introduction of SMS messaging, changes to prescribing and needle exchanges to ensure the continued care and safety of our service users. The resilience and dedication shown by staff in the community has been remarkable and has undoubtedly saved lives. Thank you to everyone working in community services and to all the support staff working behind the scenes to ensure these staff have the resources to carry out their roles safely and effectively. Today we also have some important information about Health Roster and an offer of priority broadband for NHS clinicians working from home.

Thank you,

Andrew Maloney Director of HR/Deputy Chief Executive
