Beginning/ Intermediate Weaving Barb Chappell Discover the fun, excitement and creativity of weaving on floor looms. No prior experience is necessary. You will learn how to plan a woven project of your choice. We will go through the steps of preparing the , threading the loom, weaving the fabric and finishing the final product. Course # 5 Rigid Heddle Weaving: An Introduction The “Gateway” loom. Curious about weaving, looking for another way to use your stash , love the look of a woven textile, purchased a rigid heddle loom and are having trouble with design and set up? This class is for you. We will cover the basics to get you on your way to creating woven fabrics. Class will cover loom features, preparation and loom set-up, yarn selections and fabric design and tips on weaving techniques. Saturday October 11th 10:00 – 1:00 $50.00

Course # 6 Tapestry It’s the slow fiber movement! Learn the basics of weft-faced tapestry weaving. Designs range from geometric & abstract to pictorial and representational. We will start with the basics: loom requirements, yarn selection, cartoon preparation, weaving techniques and product applications. Design and weave a small tapestry piece. Tapestry can be woven on a variety of loom types: frame loom, rigid heddle, table loom or floor loom. Small looms available or use your own. Tuesday October 14, 28, November 4 6:30 – 8:30 $75.00

Course #13 Beginning Machine Knitting Dawn Oertel We are excited to continue machine knitting in the lineup of fiber classes offered in the studio. Learn the basics of machine knitting from start to finish. This class is specifically designed for the Studio LK150 Mid-Guage . Class covers machine set-up, stitch patterns, gauges, tension swatches and more in preparation for project design/knitting. Equipment Provided. Yarns available for purchase. Course #14 Machine Knitting II Dawn Oertel The . This class will build on the skills from Machine Knitting I to create a sweater. Guage swatches, increasing, decreasing, shaping and joining to knit the component pieces and assemble them in your finished product. Previous machine knitting class required and you should have you own LK150. (These are available for purchase in the studio.) Course # 16 Intro to Rug Hooking Pat Barry Curious about this time honored textile art form? This workshop will introduce you to the art of rug hooking. fabric strips are hooked into a fabric background to create the design. Learn the basics of the technique and the “tools of the trade.” Try your hand at hooking and choose from a selection of kits to create a small hooked piece. Saturday October 4th 12:00 – 4:00 $50.00

Course # 17 Wire Work Shawl Pin Deb Bednarek Scarves are all the rage in fashion right now so this is the perfect time to learn how to make your own wire pin to keep everything in place. Learn how to make a fibula; an ancient style of pin that’s really a glorified safety pin! You do not need prior jewelry skills to bend, texture and shape bronze wire to make a pin that is as pretty as it’s functional. This will make a nice addition to your fall wardrobe or a creative stocking stuffer gift for the holidays. Basic techniques for shaping, forming, texturing and finishing the pin will be taught and you will have the option to keep it all sleek wire or add curly twists and bead accents. All materials and tools will be provided. Saturday November 1st 1:00 – 3:30 $50.00

Course # 18 Woven Book Carla Day How do you combine Weaving with Bookbinding? Come find out as we create a book structure that weaves the front and back covers together while binding the book as a whole. Supplies included. Saturday, November 8th 10:30 – 2:00 $50.00

Course # 19 Felted Bowls/Cloche Hats Barb Try your “hand” at flat wet felting with a resist material. Using wool fibers and yarns, we will make a cloche hat or bowl in the colors of your choice. All fiber materials provided. Saturday November 15th 10:30-2:30 $55.00
