Dear Ruth,

We are currently starting our lining programme however the weather will play a part in how much work we can get completed over the next few weeks.

I will aim to get these in place in time however as mark has suggested perhaps it would be worthwhile to secure some no parking cones as a backup?

Kind Regards

Richard

Dear Ruth,

This is something that Richard Dobson agreed to pick up as part of his road marking maintenance programme.

Road marking activities were suspended for the winter period and although conditions are improving I'm not sure when this year's programme is due to begin.

Perhaps some no waiting cones could be used to cover the event on Good Friday?

I have copied Richard into this note and I am sure he will update you shortly.

Dear Mark,

I understand that white lines on the approaches to the canal bridge, and also on the bridge itself, have been proposed as a solution to the ongoing problem of obstructive parking by canal users.

The Parish Council notes that Good Friday and the associated annual Devizes-Westminster canoe race is approaching so would greatly appreciate it if these lines could be in place by then; as it is likely to get extremely busy, considerate parking by barge-owners and race-viewers will be even more of a necessity.

Thanks very much

Good afternoon,

I am waiting for two responses from Richard Dobson...

1. Woodborough PC - how many white verge markers would Wiltshire Highways provide at no cost to the pc?

2. Wilcot/Huish PC - when is the white-lining of the canal bridge at Wilcot due to be done?

Many thanks,

Ruth Kinderman, Clerk to both the above pc's From: @.. To: Dobson, Richard Cc: Beaven, Malcolm; Oatway, Paul Subject: Verge at canal bridge, Wilcot Date: 14 August 2019 12:31:16 Attachments: cars by canal.png

Dear Richard,

As promised, I said I would be in touch about this ongoing problem at Wilcot.

I am meeting two of their parish councillors on Friday so that I can see for myself what the problems are - the parish council wishes to reconsider bollards of some sort so maybe you can come along sometime after 11.30, maybe 1200hrs would be good, and join us?

Please see the attached picture - we have another flurry of complaints about it - the quantity and type of vehicles, the results e.g. excrement and litter left in the hedgerows, raucous behaviour, the very recent theft of the 'Wilcot' village sign

Thanks, Ruth, Clerk, Wilcot PC
