Wahab is also third in blocks (1.9) and field goal percentage (57.6). • Georgetown is atop the BIG EAST, and rank sixth in the nation, in rebounding (41.2). • Seton Hall enters Saturday with a 13-8 record and a 10-5 mark in BIG EAST play, having won four straight contests. • The Pirates average 73.0 ppg while their opponents are scoring 69.2 ppg and shooting 42.9 percent from the floor. • Sandro Mamukelashvili leads Seton Hall with 18.0 ppg, which is second in the BIG EAST, and is also grabbing a team-best 7.4 rpg. SETON HALL 1 2020-21 GEORGETOWN MEN’S BASKETBALL GAME NOTES THINGS TO LOOK FOR 5 IN THE 2020-21 HOYAS RETURN, REGROUP, RESURGE SINCE GEORGETOWN RETURNED FROM ITS PAUSE DUE TO COVID CONSIDERATIONS, THE HOYAS HAVE GONE 3-2, KNOCKED OFF A RANKED OPPONENT AND IMPROVED IN MANY STATISTICAL CATEGORIES, SEEING INCREASES IN PPG (+0.3), FG% (+1.9%), 3FG% (+1.4%), REBOUND MARGIN (+3.9) AND ASSISTS/GAME (+1.7). GLASS CLEANING GEORGETOWN’S 58-REBOUND PERFORMANCE AGAINST UMBC WAS THE PROGRAM’S MOST IN NEARLY 20 YEARS (59 VS. GRAMBLING STATE, 12/09/2000). THOMPSON SIGNS FIRST PRO CONTRACT IN THE NETHERLANDS BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Former WKU Basketball guard Darius Thompson has inked his first professional contract, signing with Zorg en Zekerheid Basketball Leiden in the Netherlands. ZZ Leiden competes in the Dutch Basketball League. The team has won the national championship three times, the NBB Cup twice and the Dutch Basketball Supercup twice. Thompson, a 6-foot-4 guard from Murfreesboro, Tenn., joined the Hilltoppers for the 2017-18 season as a graduate transfer from Virginia. He left his mark on the program in just one year, starting all 38 games, averaging 35.6 minutes per contest and earning a spot on the All-Conference USA Second Team. Thompson averaged 13.6 points, 4.8 assists and 4.2 rebounds for WKU, while netting a team- high 54 made 3-pointers.

All it took was a trip to Walt Disney World Resort for head coach Jay Wright to get his team back on track after dropping back-to-back games last week and falling out of the AP Top 25 poll for the first time since 2013. Villanova (5-2) won its sixth consecutive early-season tournament championship on Sunday, dispatching the previously unbeaten No. 14 Florida State Seminoles (5-1), 66-60, to claim the 13th annual AdvoCare Invitational at HP Field House at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney. The Wildcats, winners of two of the past three NCAA men’s national titles, don’t have all aspects of their game figured out by any stretch, according to Wright. But Sunday’s win against the very deep and talented Seminoles answers one question that was rattling around Wright’s mind at the outset of the tournament. “Winning here this weekend and against a very good Florida State team tells me that maybe we are not as inexperienced as I thought we were following the two loses against Michigan and Furman,” Wright said. “Against Michigan, we panicked. Against Furman, we were undisciplined. During the past three games and especially tonight against Florida State, we were patient, we didn’t panic, and we were disciplined – especially when they made their run and keep coming at us.
