Cleveland LGBT Center The Cleveland LGBT Center was founded in 1975 and is one of the oldest LGBT centers in the country. The center hosts an annual pride celebration in Public Square and hosts trainings and programs and engages in advocacy around LGBT issues. Two Spirit and Many North African, Pacific Island,and Native American cultures have long recognized the existence of people beyond the . Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera Marsha P. Johnson, a black , and Sylvia Rivera, a trans Latinx and bisexual woman were key to shaping Pride celebrations. Sylvia and Martha also cofounded STAR, an organization that helped homeless drag queens and youth.
