Facilities Directorate Residential Services

Residence Night Porter (St Marks and Montague ) x 2

Hours of work are an annual average of 35 hours per week over a 52 week reference period, worked on a shift pattern including weekends. The shift pattern is 4 nights on from 5:00pm to 4:00am then 4 nights off. A flexible approach is required, working as necessary to meet the needs of the business.

We provide accommodation for around 8,000 students in either self-catered halls or catered halls located at different sites, both on and off campus. During vacations our accommodation facilities are used for vacation lettings and day meetings.

We are seeking approachable customer focused people to assist in the day to day running of our residential sites. As a Night Porter you will be required to patrol some of the residential sites, provide customer service to residents, and undertake general duties such as cleaning and minor maintenance work.

You will have experience of working in a similar role in a customer focused environment, and be able to demonstrate a commitment to customer care and the provision of a high quality service. As this role also requires driving a Residential Services vehicle, you will need to hold a full current valid driving licence and be able to drive in a safe and appropriate manner.

You will have good interpersonal and communication skills, and have the ability to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision, as well as part of a wider team.

This post will require a Basic Disclosure Check.
