President’s Welcome

We have made it through the first year of the 2020’s and haven’t we proven as financial aid administrators that we can embrace change. One thing that I can say with confidence is that as financial aid administrators we do well at adapting and implementing the everchanging regulations and environment that is financial aid in Higher Education, and I hope that this conference will aid in your growth as financial aid administrators. Our spring conference is packed full of sessions to help us continue to grow and develop as we continue to Roar into the 20’s. The hard work of April Tretter, our spring conference chair and Michael Birchett, setting up REMO will surely show through with a week packed full of great training opportunities. We have lots of truly talented presenters including Trevor Summers from the Department of Education, Zach Christian from South Carolina, Celena Tulloss our current SASFAA president, Katie Conrad the Florida President‐Elect, and many of our familiar experts so please check out the agenda. In additional to some great training opportunities there is also time set aside for a round table talk on CARE, CRRSAA, HEERF, what’s next, as well as time to meet with KASFAA President Elect Rhonda Bryant to talk about volunteering with KASFAA next year. Finally, please consider joining us in person or virtually for the President’s reception on Thursday evening where we encourage you to embrace your inner Flapper, Gangster, Capone or Bootlegger for an evening of (socially distanced) drinks, appetizers and most of all recognition of some really talented and amazing people as we dive into the 20’s through a Speakeasy event everyone will enjoy. I hope that this spring training will help you embrace change, transformation, innovation and creativity as we move together further into the 20’s.
