The UAB College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) invites applications for the position of Electrics Coordinator in the Department of Theatre.

The Stage Electrics Coordinator is responsible for the realization of sound, lighting, projection, and special effects for four full-length productions and two to three studio events each year. Duties include: Train and supervise student employees and students fulfilling production requirements in lighting and sound, design and/or engineer sound for department productions, maintain electrics inventory and lab/storage facilities, and recommend electrics-related capital improvements and upgrades. Qualified applicants may have the opportunity to teach for additional compensation. Applicants should be familiar with ETC lighting systems, Pro Tools and Q Lab technology. Qualifications: BA or BFA in technical theatre with three years of experience, or MFA. Screening will begin immediately, and will continue until the position is filled. The Department of Theatre at UAB is a production-oriented program in a liberal arts context. The department offers a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre and a comprehensive general B.A. degree with pre-professional concentrations in performance and design/technology. The department is comprised of 16 faculty members (five in design and technology), four professional staff (assistant technical director, electrics coordinator, costume studio supervisor and properties master) and two administrative associates.
