OVER 350 INDIGENOUS STUDENTS HAVE GRADUATED FROM FLINDERS UNIVERSITY SINCE 1970. Our first Indigenous student, John Moriarty AM, graduated from Flinders in 1970 with a Bachelor of Arts. John was followed closely by the late Ken Wanganeen, who graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in 1973. In recognition of Ken’s academic achievement and his extensive involvement in campus life, the University established the Ken Wanganeen medal, awarded annually to the Indigenous student with the highest grade point average.
