They will be joined on stage by Argentine-Australian baritone José Carbó, who wowed audiences earlier this year with his commanding voice in La Traviata, alongside Diego Torre, who delivered outstanding title-role performances in the recent Sydney Winter productions of Aida and and young tenor Shanul Sharma, who is due to perform a number of principal roles in 2019 season productions of Wozzeck, Il Viaggio a Reims and Ghost Sonata.

Acclaimed maestro Brian Castles-Onion, who has conducted seven consecutive seasons of Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour, will guide this mesmerising cast accompanied by the Opera Australia Orchestra.

This free event is the perfect opportunity for first-timers or seasoned operagoers to dig out the picnic rug, kick back and relax with family and friends, under a starry night sky and enjoy opera at its best.

Guests can choose from a selection of food and beverage pop-up stalls, including Mazda’s Garden Bar, and have the chance to win exciting prizes by getting involved in a range of pre-entertainment activities in the lead up to the show. Mazda Australia is also offering the chance to win a new Mazda CX-3.

Brought to the heart of Sydney once again by Opera Australia and Hero Partner Mazda Australia, this free concert enables the community to enjoy the magical moments in opera and strengthens the 16-year collaborative commitment of making opera accessible to everyone.
