ƒ Breathtaking performance by international car stunt phenomenon, Russell Swift and first-time audience participation

The world’s number one car stunt driver, Russell Swift, be back once again to take the audience’s breath away with spectacular displays of precision driving and manoeuvres at Singapore Motorshow 2006. This British Autotest Champion and England Autotest Team Captain is an international phenomenon who has left audiences around the world in awe with his out-of-this-world stunts.

Russ is the holder of the Guinness World Records for parallel parking in the tightest space, J Turn in the tightest space and the fastest do-nuts. At the show, Russ will also be performing the reverse spin, hand brake parking, dance routine, two-wheeling, powerslides and doughnuts.

This year, besides watching the thrilling performance, a lucky few members of the public will also get an once-in-a-lifetime chance to join Russ as passengers for some adrenalin-pumping, gravity-defying actions. This special treat is offered by the show organiser and Motor Image Enterprises – distributor of Subaru, which will auction off passenger tickets at a starting bid price of $88 from now to 18 November 2006 at http://sgauto.com/Viva_Foundation/. All proceeds will go to children charity Viva Foundation (www.viva.sg).

There will be a total of 38 performances being held throughout the show with each performance catering to entertain a maximum of 500 spectators. The public can get entry passes two hours before each performance at the show itself.

ƒ Three-day live broadcast from mobile studio by Radio 91.3

Radio 91.3 will broadcast happenings at the Singapore Motorshow 2006 ‘live’ from a mobile studio on 15, 16 and 17 Nov between 5pm and 8pm. Popular

radio host Hubert Tang and motoring journalist Leow Ju Len will pump up the action at the studio on 17 Nov.

Besides the live broadcast, Joe Augustin and Petrina Kow will also conduct a series of 'open talk' over Radio 91.3 from 13 - 17 Nov during their morning show.

• zaZen by Rinspeed – Car of the future

Catch the car of the future, the Rinspeed’s concept car ‘zaZen’ – touted as ‘automotive enlightenment’ on four wheels - created by the famous Swiss designer and Rinspeed founder, Frank M. Rinderknecht.

Featuring a holographic brake lamp and smoothly contoured, transparent, one- piece roof dome made up of high-tech Makrolon® polycarbonate by Bayer MaterialScience, ‘zaZen’ represents the beginning of a new era in lighting technology in vehicle design.

The revolutionary design concept includes a hardtop that appears to float airily above the rather chunky body and a white mineral shade surface coating with millions of tiny pieces of tiny precious Swarovski crystals giving rise to a ‘crystal skin’ finish.

Rinspeed mesmerised Singapore Motorshow visitors with the Rinspeed Splash in 2004 and will inspire the audience yet again with the revolutionary technologies and design of ‘zaZen’ this year.

ƒ P2 by Prodrive – A unique two-seater sports car from concept to reality

Catch P2, a unique and impressive two-seater sports car that took Prodrive just nine months to bring from concept to reality. Designed, engineered and built by

the motorsport and automotive specialist in UK, P2 encapsulates the best of Prodrive’s inspirational ideas and innovative technologies.

P2 marries practicality with performance to perfection. While it weighs just 1100 kg and can reach 100kph from standstill in under four seconds, P2 also has the comforts of any modern car.

At the core of P2 is a modified Subaru Impreza STi engine incorporating Prodrive’s innovative performance-enhancing technologies – ALS (Anti-Lag System) and ATD (Active Torque Dynamics)

• CX-7 by Mazda – High performance SUV makes its debut outside the US

Mazda Motor Singapore is the first outside of US to exhibit the CX-7 – a high performance SUV powerplant from Mazda's flagship model, Mazda6 MPS (Mazda Performance Series). Motor show visitors will be the first few in the world to view and own the CX-7 which is so popular in the US that demand outstrips supply. It has less wind-noise intrusion, better road holding at high speed and efficient fuel consumption with 6 speed automatic transmission.

• MX-5 Roadster Coupe by Mazda – World’s fastest retractable hardtop

The MX-5 boasts the world’s fastest electrical operated roof opening and closing retractable hardtop that takes only 12 seconds to retract as compared to the conventional 25 seconds retraction time frame. The MX-5 has the first RHT system in the world, as compared to other retractable hardtops, that does not take up any boot space, and so maintain a beautiful silhouette.

• Actyon by Ssangyong – Compact SUV coupe

Targeted at the young and young at heart, the Actyon passenger 4x4 vehicle promises an action-packed ride, on and off the road. This SUV is powered by a 2.3L Mercedes Benz licensed engine that drives its high-performance capability

while providing the “comfort features” of a coupe such as cruise control, steering wheel mounted audio controls, sunroof and reversing camera.

• Tribeca by Subaru – Crossover 7-seater sports utility vehicle with

superior handling and smart aesthetics

An entirely new alternative to the conventional SUV, the Tribeca is the first Crossover Utility Vehicle to be powered by a six-cylinder, horizontally-opposed boxer engine that is a seven-passenger limited model with stylish exterior. The Subaru Tribeca is in a class above the current Subaru legacy at outback line of vehicles. After much anticipation, following its debut at the North American International Auto Show in late 2005, Subaru’s groundbreaking seven-passenger sports utility vehicle, the Tribeca, will be proudly launched at this year’s Singapore Motorshow.

• GSXR 1000 by Suzuki – Super fast street legal racing machine

Based on a 2005 Suzuki GSXR 1000, this is a replica of the Yoshimura championship-winning super bike raced in the Japanese Super bike race series. The GSXR 1000 is the supreme performance machine of its class. With its awesome acceleration and power, this exhilarating motorbike is clearly not for the novice. Motorcyclists can expect comfort, ergonomic controls, light weight, smooth gears, brilliant suspension, grip and aerodynamics.

• YZF-R1 – 2007 by Yamaha – Modified state of the art race technology

Debuted in 1998, the first R1 is a super sport legend that won many hearts, minds and numerous races. The latest improved R1 rides fast and well with the YCC-I system (Yamaha Chip-Controlled Intake) air funnels for greater performance across the rev range. Packed with technology inspired by their YZR-M1 MotoGP bike, the R1 improves cornering by responding exactly to rider input on corner entry and improves rear-wheel force for extra traction when accelerating out of tight corners.
