Construction is underway on the new Bio Mass Plant at the Miffl in- burg Area School District. The end result will be an environmentally friendly and cost-saving facility. The Miffl inburg Area School District is busy with a renovation project aff ecting several buildings in the district. The Bio Mass plant under construction will be used to heat 3 out of the 4 buildings in the MASD using wood chips. Air conditioning is also being upgraded and improvements to the entrances are being done. Due to the school closures this spring, the project got underway ahead of schedule and the work is progressing on or ahead of schedule. McClure Company from Harrisburg is the contractor and developer for the project. To date the foundation walls at Bio Mass building that will house the furnace, boiler, and storage for wood chips is being completed as well as the interior framing of the entrances at Miffl inburg Middle School and Miffl inburg Elementary to make the entrances secure.
