PIDGEONs of Broadclyst, Samuel Pidgeon was the son of Daniel Pidgeon and Ancilla Bampfield (see the PIDGEONS of BRANSCOMBE & SIDBURY family tree). Daniel was born at Branscome in 1792 and apprenticed to Robert Spiller at the age of 10. In 1818 he married Sarah Farley at , and they went to live at Woodbury. In 1823, however, the family was forced, by a removal order, to move from Woodbury to Broadclyst, where they lived for the rest of their lives.
