Le Mob LE MANS CLASSIC Le Mob Plus de Classique LE MANS CLASSIC 8th 9th July 2006 A visit to the famous Le Mans 24 Hrs Race, considered to be the greatest challenge for any racing car and driver and the unique atmosphere generated by the race guarantees a truly memorable experience. Racing enthusiasts since 1923 have been making their way in June to the delightful town of Le Mans and the Sarthe Circuit. The town is an integral part in the history of the race and literally lights up during race week This year sees the return of the Le Mans Classic. A series of races over 24 hours embracing cars that have competed at Le Mans from the very first race in 1923 right through to 1978. The Le Mans Classic offers a truly wonderful opportunity to relive the history of the Vingt Quatre Heures du Mans.In response to previous successful “Le Mob” visits to the 24 Hrs and Le Mans Classic we are pleased to offer exclusive guests accommodation packages at our Châteaux and country properties, all with 20 minutes drive from Le Mans and the circuit. Guests also have the option of camping in a secluded area within the grounds of our Château d’Eporcé, details available on request. All our packages are based on a four night stay Thursday to Monday and have been designed with classic marque owners in mind. We can also offer Competing Owners/Teams garage accommodation, where cars can be prepared and housed during the race week and holiday extensions. Details on request. A full programme of optional activities including social evenings is provided for your enjoyment. This year special arrangements for our guests to benefit from the Club facilities provided by the race organisers at the circuit have been made. Strictly subject to availability these include : “Le Mob” dedicated Club Parking Enclosure inside the circuit, free to all car occupants in possession of special Club General Entry Tickets. Note the organisers will only permit selected classic cars and marques into the Club Parking Enclosures, see attached list of eligible vehicles. Guests without such cars may pre purchase or buy on the day circuit entry and outside circuit parking tickets direct from the organisers. Pace Car Escorted Circuit Laps Saturday and Sunday Race Day Picnic Hampers Saturday Evening Race Organisers Party. Important Note: The above are at a premium, particularly the circuit laps. We therefore have imposed a “latest booking date” of December 31st for all circuit facility requests and payment in full at the time of booking. Unsuccessful applications will be refunded in full. Cancellations will be refunded only if sold on after December 31st less an Cancellation Fee of £25 per Reservation Form Booking. Please Book Early to avoid possible disappointment. L’Abbaye de Champagne Rouez en Champagne - nr Conlie The Abbaye de Champagne is a X11 century abbey nestling in a quiet country spot close to the village of Conlie and no more than 20mins from Le Mans. More suited for those with a small budget in mind the Abbaye, a typical Chambres d’Hôte, comprises of 3 Nos traditional French period styled ensuite double rooms in the abbaye and nine ensuite double/twin rooms in the converted outbuildings. Simple but comfortable furnishings are used in the annex and many rooms are capable of accommodating up to four persons. Guest have the use of a small swimming pool in the grounds. Pierre. Marie Annick and family are always on hand to ensure an enjoyable visit. The Abbaye noted for it’s use of local produce and excels in traditional French cuisine which is why we host our celebration banquet in the dining hall, Le Grand Gaigne Domfront en Champagne - Le Mans Less than 15mins easy drive from Le Mans and overlooking typical open French countryside Le Grand Gaigne offers an impressive but relaxed friendly ambience. On the outskirts of Domfront en Champagne village of this attractive stone built country home of a French titled family has six comfortable twin or double bedrooms within the main building, some with ensuite bath or shower facilities. The Grange, a recently converted barn in the grounds offers a further six superb ensuite bedrooms, two of which are linked to form a family or group room. The Grange has a fitted kitchen and large lounge. Guests, when not visiting the circuit or the surrounding countryside can simply relax in the extensive grounds enjoying swimming in the large outdoor pool. La Belle Fontaine Souligné-Flacé - Le Mans Less than 15mins drive from Le Mans and the circuit La Belle Fontaine has been recently converted into a superb self contained country coach house residence. Part of a XV century manor makes it the ideal base for the Classic. A welcome new addition to our property portfolio it is sure to be very popular with our guests. All the rooms are beautifully furnished and the bathrooms just some of the features of this property. Accommodation comprises four bedrooms, two ensuite and the other two sharing a large bathroom and shower and separate toilet. There are two further bedrooms located on a private floor in the adjacent manor. There is a large comfortable lounge for guests to relax in and impressive dinning and kitchen areas. The secluded attractive gardens house a large swimming pool and overlook open countryside. Being so close to the circuit, well appointed and a quality residence La Belle Fontaine is highly recommended. Aunay Pirmil nr Le Mans Set in a secluded French countryside location Aunay is a converted traditional French farm building embracing simple and yet comfortable accommodation. The large lounge is overlooked by a balcony leading to some of the seven bedrooms bedrooms. A kitchen is equipped with fridge for keeping both wine and beer cool and an outside built in BBQ for use by guests. Two bedrooms, one double and the other single are served by a shower room and a separate toilet whilst in the other end of the house three bedrooms each with a double and single bed in them have a large bathroom and two separate toilets.

    ARCHIVES DEPARTEMENTALES DE LA SARTHE Sous-série 9 J COLLECTION ANDRE PIOGER Répertoire numérique détaillé par Gérard NAUD, Damien FOULARD et Frédérique HAMM, 1974, 1999 Modifié par Fanny Coirard, 2008 Historien de la guerre de 1939-1945 et de la Résistance dans la Sarthe, André Pioger ne s’intéressait pas moins à l’archéologie préhistorique et médiévale comme aux divers aspects de l’histoire religieuse et sociale. Jusqu’à son décès en 1973, il ne se passait guère d’année sans qu’il remette aux Archives départementales quelques dossiers de notes ou de documents originaux. En 1974 sa veuve compléta le fonds par les documents relatifs à la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Une première partie de la collection est constituée de documents originaux très disparates (9 J 1-29). On y remarque des archives notariales provenant de Thorigné, parmi lesquelles se trouvent les comptes du négociant en toile Pierre Cohin, 1762-1781 (9 J 6-8) et des épaves du chartrier de Thorigné (9 J 18-21). Il semblerait que toutes ces pièces proviennent de Thomas Roussel notaire à Thorigné, mais aussi régisseur du marquisat, procureur de la fabrique de Thorigné et administrateur de la municipalité du canton de Bouloire. A défaut de mieux la majorité des documents (peut-être issus des dossiers de clients constitués par maître Roussel) ont été classés dans l’ordre alphabétique des noms de personne ou de lieu. Ce fonds a été dénommé par Pioger « Fonds Boullard », du nom de son ancien propriétaire. Quelques épaves du chartrier du château de Brinbert à Pruillé-le-Chétif sont conservées sous la cote 9 J 30.
