BLUE JACKETS TEAM NOTES • The Blue Jackets have earned a Game 1 victory for the third time in their last four postseason series after also winning Game 1 of the 2018 (at Washington) and 2019 (at Tampa Bay) Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. • The Jackets earned a shutout victory for the first time in postseason franchise history. • Tonight marks the first time a CBJ postseason game has entered the third period scoreless (32nd contest). • CBJ went 0-for-2 on the power play and 1-for-1 on the kill. • Columbus is playing in a franchise-record fourth-straight postseason. CBJ are just one of six teams to earn a berth in the past four seasons, joining Boston, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Toronto and Washington. • It marks the fifth time in the last seven seasons that the Jackets have played in the postseason. • This is the first time that the Jackets and Leafs are meeting in the postseason all-time. • Four Blue Jackets made their NHL postseason debut tonight (Emil Bemstrom, Liam Foudy, Joonas Korpisalo and Eric Robinson). ______

BLUE JACKETS PLAYER NOTES • G Joonas Korpisalo turned aside all 28 Toronto shots to become the first player in franchise history to record a postseason shutout. He is the 14th player in NHL history to record a shutout in his playoffs debut and the first since Anaheim’s John Gibson in Game 4 of the 2014 R2 series against Los Angeles. • RW Cam Atkinson gave the Blue Jackets a 1-0 lead 1:05 into the third period. He added an assist for his fifth career playoffs multi- game. He broke a tie with Artemi Panarin for the most goals and points in franchise history in the playoffs and now has 8-12-20 in 28 contests. • D David Savard collected the lone assist on the Atkinson goal. He had 1-2-3 in 10 postseason games in 2019. • C Alexander Wennberg added an empty net tally for his second career playoffs goal (2-2-4 in 13 contests). • LW Nick Foligno collected an assist on the Wennberg goal. He now has 5-6-11 in 25 career postseason contests as a Blue Jacket. • D Seth Jones finished with game highs in time on ice (26:54) and hits (seven).
