MAINE PEOPLE’S RESOURCE CENTER PUBLIC OPINION SURVEY

September 15-17, 2016 ▪ N=835 Methodology

2

 A survey of 835 likely Maine voters was conducted by phone and online from September 15th-17th, 2016.

 Survey results were mathematically weighted by gender, age and geographic area to ensure an accurate representation of the population being surveyed. The sample was not weighted by party or ideology.

 The sample margin of error of this survey is 3.4%, 95 times out of 100. Sub-samples may have a larger margin of error.

 Frequencies and percentages may not always add up to the total number of responses or to 100%, due to weighting and rounding.

“Uncannily close… Considering the final results, the center receives kudos for its work.” –Portland Press Herald

“MPRC is bringing transparency and accountability to a challenging area of public debate… MPRC is elevating the discourse around what Maine people actually think and want.” –Portland Phoenix

“While there are conflicting numbers from two pollsters, I tend to believe the Maine People's Resource Center, or MPRC, has the more accurate findings. Over the last two years they have polled eight contests and, without fail, their findings among the published public polls have been closest to the actual results.” –Dan Demeritt, Former Communications and Policy Director, Office of the Governor
