Sophomore Brett Cecil sealed the win for the Terps as he earned his UNIVERSITY INFORMATION record-setting eighth save of the season. The Hagerstown, Md. native is also among the league leaders in doubles with 11 in 31 games.

For the Terps, it was the first series victory over a ranked Atlantic Coast Conference opponent since the weekend of May 2-4, 2003, when the Terps defeated No. 5 NC State twice in College Park. It also marked the first series the Terps have taken from the Yellow Jackets since the league began playing three-game sets in 1990.

• On Saturday, Ben Pfinsgraff threw six strong innings and Brett Cecil came on for a three-inning save as the Terps took down Tech, 6-3, to even the series. For Pfinsgraff, it marked the second straight time that he has beaten Tech, including 2005, when he defeated the top- ranked Yellow Jackets in Atlanta.
