3 WELCOME

Welcome to “TO THE MOON AND BACK”! On behalf of the Endeavour PTSA Board and the Auction Committee, thank you for joining us this evening!

Endeavour Elementary PTSA provides an enriched educational and social experience to support and inspire the children of our community. In past years, your generous donations have allowed us to provide funding for special projects like interactive whiteboards, classroom sound amplification systems, a balanced literacy book room, and mobile computer labs.

The proceeds from this year’s auction will be going toward the acquisition of additional technology and to support and strengthen student learning in math, science, reading, and art. They will also contribute to the reading assistance program, classroom and grade level grants, the ‘Science to Go’ program, and emergency preparedness supplies. In addition, with the help of your donations, we will be able to continue the tradition of community at Endeavour through PTSA sponsored programs and events like Spooky Spaghetti, Science Fair, Art Walk, and much much more!

We would like to thank the many auction volunteers for their tireless efforts and commitment to this event. An evening as special as this would not be possible without the tremendous work of our Auction Committee. We would also like to thank the outstanding businesses that have supported us through sponsorships and product donations.

Enjoy the evening and thank you again for your generous support of Endeavour Elementary PTSA! You are out of this world! Sincerely,

Care Maree Harper Jill Bengis PTSA President Auction Chair

Dear Endeavour Families and Community Partners,

Welcome to the 2016-2017 Endeavour Elementary fundraising auction! I hope you are ready to soar to the Moon and Back with this awesome event. This will be an evening filled with entertainment, laughter, and wonderful memories. Your generosity is what makes Endeavour a vibrant community for your students to learn and grow! Tonight, you have the incredible opportunity to truly make a difference in your child’s educational experience.

I would like to thank every parent, family member, friend, and staff member who is in attendance this evening. Your presence shows the commitment you have, to ensuring our children have every opportunity for success during their elementary years.

Your support is amazing and we appreciate all you do for our school! Your donations of time, talent, and resources are what make our school community thrive! I believe Maya Angelou said it best, “You have no idea the power you have. It delights my heart to encourage you to continue.” Through your resources and devotion to this school community, you have the power to create endless opportunities for our students. With your support, we can continue to make Endeavour a great place to learn and grow!

In closing, our staff deserves a huge THANK YOU for teaching our students to love learning. Tickets are $100 each. The winning ticket will be drawn before the Live Auction begins and the chosen item will be removed from the Live Auction. You must be present to win.

Wine Grab

Everyone wins a bottle of wine; you just don’t know which wine until you “grab” a wrapped bottle … will the bottle be red or white? Try your luck at nabbing a great bottle of wine for $25. No bottle is valued less than $15 and some are worth more than $60.

Black & White Photos

Candid black and white images of Endeavour students adorn the walls this evening. You may take home these amazing shots for $10 each. Look for a bid sheet near the photos, add your bid number, the quantity of photos, and take them home with you tonight.

9 Dessert Dash

The dessert dash involves each table combining bids to claim one of the delicious desserts available. The table with the largest combined bid gets the first chance to send one of its members dashing to the dessert table to pick the dessert of their choice. To win the chance to enjoy one of the fantastic desserts, simply complete the Dessert Dash Bid Form on your table. You want to bid high to be the first table called and make sure you get to choose the dessert of your dreams. The representative shouldn’t delay when picking the dessert. The table with the next largest bid will be called up to select their dessert shortly afterwards…. thus, the DASH part of the dessert dash.

Dessert Dash Rules

1. Each table will have a Dessert Dash Bid Form to complete.

2. Decide how much you want to contribute to winning a dessert and enter your bidder number and bid amount on the Bid Form. Don’t forget to total all the bid amounts for your table.

3. Pick the fastest person from the table to be the “dessert dasher”.

4. The auctioneer will announce the table with the highest bid amount to begin the dash and will quickly call the next highest bidding table until all the tables have been called.

5. Your “dasher” must be in a sitting or starting crouch position (On your marks!) at the table when the table number is announced.

6. Once the table number is announced, your “dasher” will have 10 seconds to run to the dessert table and pick the dessert of the table’s choice.

7. The “dasher” will carefully bring the dessert back to the table. Yes, the “dasher” must share with the others!

47 MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Please raise your paddle high to help Endeavour Elementary PTSA generate the critical financial support we need to offer enhancements to the base curriculum. This evening’s Make a Difference proceeds will fund two years of curriculum enrichment in the areas of technology, science, literacy, and art. Donating is easy! Listen for the Auctioneer to call out the level you wish to give ($1,000, $500, $250, $100, $75, $50, or $25), raise your bid card high and wait for him to acknowledge your number. Our goal tonight is 100% audience participation.

Here are a few PTSA funded programs and the impact they have on our children:

Mobile Technology Over the past two years, the PTSA has funded 30 laptops and two mobile carts. These mobile computer labs have proven to be invaluable and wildly popular, both because of the flexibility they give to teachers to use technology where it fits in a lesson, and to help the school make the transition to online assessment testing. The increase in laptop carts has also allowed us to push back state assessments by three weeks, providing students with additional instructional time, before the start of testing.

Science enrichment With the PTSA’s support, each student has the opportunity to participate in Science-To-Go enrichment lessons. These lessons include incredible hands on learning that extend the students’ science understanding, experiences, and enjoyment. In addition, the PTSA sponsors the annual Science Fair which allows students to gain valuable skills in scientific investigation, project management, scientific analysis, and communication. Studies have shown that hands-on learning such as this can significantly contribute to students gaining the skills they’ll need as adults to identify problems, think through solutions and alternatives, and explore new options if their approaches don’t pan out. 48

Art enrichment The PTSA fully funds Discover Art, a 100% volunteer driven art program. This programs exposes students to a variety of master artists, teaches them art terminology and techniques, and gives them the opportunity to express their creativity through hands-on lessons. Art education enables children to explore, build on and record their own creative and imaginative ideas. It also encourages them to think about and understand the world visually, thus developing important observational skills and problem-solving skills. In addition, the encouragement of creativity from an early age has been found to be one of the best guarantees of growth in confidence and self-esteem.

Eager reader Motivation to read is a critical factor in reading achievement. The PTSA Eager Reader program is one way that readers at Endeavour are recognized for their efforts to increase the amount of time spent reading. The PTSA funds the books and other incentives that children earn by reading. Owning books is a real source of motivation for young readers!

Your donations to Make a Difference are 100% tax-deductible and are eligible for matching funds if your company has such a program. So, raise your paddle high to help fund these amazing enrichment programs for our children!

Monies raised through the 2017 Make a Difference paddle raise will be used to support curriculum enhancements in various subject areas at Endeavour, including science, technology, literacy, and art. These funds will be divided between programs at the PTSA’s discretion.

Auction Rules

“Never stop looking up”

57 RULES

Express Check- Out

To minimize the time spent in the check-out at the end of the evening, we encourage you to take advantage of the express check- out option. Your credit card will be entered at registration, and from that point on, your credit card is linked to your bidder number. All your purchases and donations for the auction automatically will be charged to your account. If you elect not to use express check-out, proceed to the Check-Out table to pay for your items. We accept checks, Visa, Mastercard, or American Express. Please make your check payable to Endeavour Elementary PTSA. For items that are jointly purchased by two or more parties, the signer is the designated payee. Please make your own arrangements for reimbursement by your co-purchasers.

All Sales Are Final

A bid number is assigned to each registered guest/couple. Use of this bid constitutes a legal contract to buy. All items are sold “as is” and all sales are final. The Endeavour PTSA auction committee has attempted to describe all items correctly, but neither the PTSA nor the auctioneer shall be held responsible for the correctness of descriptions or warranties on the goods or services sold. The buyer represents that he or she has inspected the goods and accepts all responsibilities. No description made in the catalog or made orally at the auction shall be deemed a warranty or assumption of liability. The auction committee reserves the right to withdraw any item for sale before the final call for bids. Dates for vacation homes, travel items and services are subject to mutual availability and agreement between the donor and buyer. Unless otherwise stated, the use of condominiums, homes, tickets, and certificates is to take place within one year following the auction at a mutually agreeable date to both the donor and buyer.

59 Tax Deduction

Endeavour Elementary PTSA is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and your payments are tax deductible as a charitable contribution only to the extent provided by law. Generally, you may deduct as a charitable contribution the amount you pay above the fair market value of the item.

Silent Auction

Silent auction bidding will begin at 5:30pm for ticket holders. All items have a bid sheet next to the item. To bid on an item, legibly write your bid number opposite the desired bid amount. Many silent auction items will have a “Guaranteed Purchase” bid. When there is a Buy It Now bid, you are able to enter your bidder number in this box. By doing this, the bidding on this item closes and the item is now yours. The three silent auctions will be closed at scheduled time intervals throughout the evening. Each section’s closing time will be posted and announced. When the final closing time is announced, all bidding on that section ceases. The closing bid circled by an auction official constitutes the winning bid.

Live Auction

You may preview the live auction items throughout the evening. The live auction will begin at 7:30pm. You may bid in the live auction by holding your bid number high with the number toward the auctioneer. The auctioneer will determine who the successful bidder is. Some items have a reserve price. If bidding doesn't reach the reserve price, Endeavour Elementary PTSA and the auction committee isn't obligated to sell the item. In the event of a dispute between bidders, the auctioneer shall have the sole discretion to determine the winning bid or to re-offer the item in dispute.

Check- Out

If you elect not to use express check-out, you may pick up your items upon showing proof of payment.
