(San Francisco, CA) The San Francisco Human Rights Commission is thrilled to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on Monday, December 10th, 2018 at the War Memorial Building in San Francisco from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. The celebration will feature thought leadership from elected officials and special guests, Commissioner Karen Clopton of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission; celebrated Jazz musician Paula West; Humanitarian Janet Reilly and DJ Jahi. In addition, the celebration is in partnership with local youth and schools: International High School, French American International School, Rooftop K8 School and Mission Dolores Academy.

Human Rights Day is observed annually on December 10th – the day the General Assembly adopted, in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. This year, marks the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a milestone document that proclaimed the inalienable rights which everyone is inherently entitled to as a human being – regardless of race, color, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. It is the most translated document in the world, available in more than 500 languages.
