ALBEMARLE 32 WINECOFF 0 ALBEMARLE 7 CONCORD 0 The Albemarle Bulldogs opened their 1958 season The Concord game was homecoming for the Bulldogs. with a fine victory over a very inspired Winecoff eleven. For the sixth straight year the Albemarle Bulldogs were Dudley Roache led the scoring with two touchdowns while conference champions. Drip Kimrey scored the only Sherrill Williams, Johnny Almond, and Don Montgomery touchdown and Johnny Saunders hit for the point after tallied once each. Johnny Saunders booted two points touchdown. ALBEMARLE 28 CHINA GROVE 0 The Bulldogs remained undefeated after the sixth straight win of the season by beating China Grove 28 to 0. Roger Smith had three touchdowns and Dudley Roache one while Johnny Saunders hit four points after touchdowns. Wayne Spivey and Eddie Crutchfield were standouts on defense.

ALBEMARLE 7 HARDING 13 Albemarle suffered their first regular season defeat since 1952 at the hands of the Harding Rams in Char- lotte. Wingback Johnny Almond tallied the one score for the Bulldogs and Johnny Saunders kicked the point after.

ALBEMARLE 0 ROCKINGHAM 20 Rockingham stunned the Bulldogs 20 to 0 for their second straight regular season defeat. It was the first time in many years that an Albemarle team had been held scoreless. Johnny Almond sustained a broken ankle and was out for the season.

ALBEMARLE 7 LANDIS 0 The Bulldogs defeated Landis 7 to 0 for the 100th win of Coach Toby Webb's coaching career. Roger Smith got the game's only score and Johnny Saunders booted the PAT. Albemarle's defense was very out- standing.
