Existing constituency boundary Proposed constituency boundary We are undertaking a 12 week period of public consultation on our Council area boundary proposed UK Parliament constituencies in Scotland. ± 0 4 miles 0 4 km • UK Parliament constituencies are being reduced from 650 to 600. • Scotland will have 53 in place of the current 59 constituencies. • 2 Scottish island constituencies are set as Na h-Eileanan an lar and Orkney and Shetland. • Constituencies must have between 71,031 - 78,507 electors, unless 2 they are larger than 12,000 km when they can have fewer electors. 2 • A constituency must be no larger than 13,000 km. • The legislation governing this review is the Parliamentary Constituencies Act 1986 (as amended). The proposed constituency boundary follows ward boundaries in East Dunbartonshire and West Dunbartonshire council areas with two exceptions: East Dunbartonshire ward 1 (Milngavie) where the boundary follows the A809 road, and ward 2 (Bearsden North) where the boundary follows a community council boundary and the A81 road.
