APRIL ERHÄLTLICH Mit neuer Wut und ihrem vierten Album kommen HELLYEAH, die Heavy Metal-Band um Mudvayne- Sänger/Gitarrist Chad Gray und Drummer-Legende Vinnie Paul (Pantera / Damageplan) erneut nach Deutschland. Mit „Blood For Blood“ (VÖ 6.6.14 / Eleven Seven Music) präsentieren HELLYEAH ein neues Level an in Musik gegossener Wut und spielen im Rahmen ihrer Tournee am 5. August in Mannheim in der Alten Seilerei und am 6. August in Köln im Underground. Tickets gibt es ab dem 2. April an den bekannten Vorverkaufsstellen, unter der bundesweiten Tickethotline 01806 / 999 000 555 (0,20 EUR/Verbindung aus dt. Festnetz / max. 0,60 EUR/Verbindung aus dt. Mobilfunknetz) oder im Internet unter www.ticketmaster.de. Die Heavy Metal-Supergroup HELLYEAH wurde 2006 ins Leben gerufen, nachdem sich die Mitglieder auf Slipknots „Tattoo The Earth“-Tour 2001 kennengelernt hatten. Zu dem legendären Ex- Pantera/Damageplan-Schlagzeuger Vinnie Paul gesellten sich von der US-amerikanischen Nu Metal- Band Mudvayne die Mitglieder Chad Gray (Gesang, Gitarre) und Gregg Tribbett. Tom Maxwell (Gitarre) und Joey Montano (Bass) von der Band Nothingface komplettierten vorerst das Line-Up. Das 2007 veröffentlichte, selbstbetitelte Debüt-Album platzierte sich aus dem Stand auf Platz 9 in den US-Billboard-Charts. Kurze Zeit später nahm Damageplan-Bassist Bon „Zilla“ Kahaha den Platz von Montano ein, der wiederum von Bloodsimple-Bassist Kyle Sanders ersetzt wurde. Nach diversen Touren unter anderem mit Korn, Evanescence, Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Stone Sour oder Halestorm veröffentlichten HELLYEAH 2010 den Zweitling „Stampede“, der es sogar bis auf Platz 8 der US-Billboard-Charts schaffte. Eine weitere Welttournee folgte mit Auftritten bei großen europäischen Festivals wie Download in England und ‚Rock am Ring‘/,Rock im Park‘ in Deutschland. Die Veröffentlichung ihres dritten Albums „Band Of Brothers“ im Jahr 2012 wurde begleitet von der Teilnahme an der ‚Gigantour 2013‘ in den USA mit Megadeth, Black Label Society, Device, Newsted und Death Division. Mit „Blood For Blood“ gelingt HELLYEAH eine furiose Rückkehr. Produziert wurde das vierte Album der Band von Kevin Churko, der für seine Arbeit mit Ozzy Osbourne, Five Finger Death Punch und In This Moment bekannt ist. Mit Songs wie dem kantigen, hasserfüllten "DMF" setzt die Platte ein Zeichen. Der Track gehört zu der Sorte Songs, deren Wut förmlich greifbar und schlichtweg “echt” ist. "Gift" ist dreckiger, angeberischer Rowdy Rock voller Groove, der gleichzeitig von jener Punk Rock- Energie beherrscht wird, zu der auch Motörhead-Fans begeistert die Mähne schütteln. Dann wiederum gibt es düstere, tiefschürfende Kost wie "Moth" oder "Hush", die beweist, dass „unglaublich heavy“ nicht zwangsläufig mit schnell oder laut gleichzusetzen ist. „Blood For Blood“ erscheint am 6.     Halestorm Rocks The Palladium Halestorm recently came through New England and played the Worcester Palladium on Nov 29. The show was nothing short of amazing. Frontwoman Lzzy Hale was on fire with her incredible vocal range as well as her ability to lay down awesome guitar riffs with the forefathers of hard rock. Opening the set was their hard and heavy track, “Mz Hyde” off of their last studio album The Strange Case Of…. The crowd was eating it up from the moment Lzzy stepped out onto the stage. The night was full of their signature tracks, old and new, and with a few surprises thrown in the mix. Known for their ability to do any songs they’ve covered justice, there were a couple curveballs in the night’s lineup of songs. First, was the classic Judas Priest song “Dissident Aggressor.” Being a huge Halestorm fan, this took me by surprise. A very pleasant surprise. To see this band rock such a killer song from one of the godfathers of heavy metal, and have Lzzy do Rob Halford such justice, was just something you had to see to believe. The other cover choice toward the end of their set was the Fleetwood Mac hit “Gold Dust Woman.” Stevie Nicks is a big influence for Lzzy’s more mellow vocals, and I can only assume that Stevie herself would be incredibly proud. The cover was absolutely flawless. I think this is how Halestorm appeals to such a wide range of age groups. They have their own classic hard rock sound, but are tweaked to appeal to younger generations.

Dr. Day had the idea of being an academician for many years, eventually seeking out teaching courses to prepare her for the transition; for Dr. Zalewski, it meant pursuing an idea of being a teacher in his profession. Dr. Robin Hattervig took the leap after hosting fourth-year dental students in his practice, while Dr. Bokemper decided to “test the waters” before diving into a new career. Regardless of their journeys, we are delighted to have them on board and making significant contributions to our academic endeavors! Additionally, our teaching continues to evolve.
