Kody Bender is the 8th Elyria Pioneer to win the coveted Mr. Basketball Award. He capped his spectacular career at Elyria by vaulting to #3 overall in the school’s all-time scoring list. Kody was also a tremendous student in the classroom, where he compiled a 3.8 GPA. He is continu- ing his basketball career at the college level at West Liberty State.

AuBree LaForce had a remarkable senior year at Vermilion to win the Miss Basketball Award. AuBree averaged just under 17 points per game during the 12-13 season. She finished her great high school career with 1,199 points. She excelled in the classroom as well with a 4.3 GPA. She is continuing her basketball career at Case Western Reserve University. She is the 3rd Lady Sailor to win the Miss Basketball Award.

There will be three new coaches in Lorain County Girls basketball for the upcoming 2013-2014 season.
