SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER 2016 September Birthdays WWII Vet George W. Hartley (09/30/1922) – 94 years young!

Bill Dunn (09/05/1968) – 48 years young!

After working outside the other day, dripping in sweat, I hope I don't need to remind Marines of the need to stay hydrated if you have to be outside. I've decided to spend the rest of this summer inside with the air conditioning staying cool. That is, of course, except for the needed journeys to Detachment meetings and functions. Hope to see many Marines out for a pleasant stroll down Highway 42 on the morning of September 10th, contributing to the beautification of our stretch of that highway, and the fellowship that happens when Marines work together.

Carry-On Detachment has a few things planned in the near future, the Clayton Music & Harvest Festival, fund raisers, Veteran's Day, Toy's-for-Tot's, our annual family Christmas pot luck dinner, and the presentation of the Detachment Marine of the Year Award. Many things to think about and plan and prepare for. It takes the efforts of all Marines for the Detachment to succeed and be successful. Step up, pitch in, and work with your fellow Marines to make Carry-On Detachment someplace every Marine would want to be! Semper Fi!
