FROM OUR WEBSITE Reader comment The following is an edited selection of read- er comments posted at the end of stories and columns published on-line. More can be found at www.cdispatch.com. Voice of the people: Lee Roy Lollar Jr. Raider: Maybe, back in 1775, those rev- olutionaries should have quit complaining and left the country. Maybe the anti-slavery folks should have left the country. Maybe those women who demanded the right to vote, should have packed up and left the country. What about the tea party complainers? Maybe they should shut up and get out of the country. It always amazing me that people can talk about freedom in one breath, and in the next they show their intolerance for those that they disagree with. They are all for freedom “under god” as long as it is the god they believe in. Anyone who disagrees with them is un-American and should forfeit their right to freedom. Some of the most important freedoms and opportunities that those locals from third-world countries receive when they come to enjoy the “American way of life” is the freedom and opportunity to complain and protest against the American govern- ment, without fear of being shot or kicked out of the country. Complaining is about as American as you can get. Local voices: The sad irony of spice deaths casbeat: Thank you for speaking the truth about why spice exists.
