INSURANCE... Our insurance covers us! Your insurance covers you! There is no boat rental insurance policy offered by any insurance company. It’s not like renting a car where you can get insurance. It is just not possible. You can check with your homeowners and see if it qualifies. Therefore you are responsible for damages to the houseboat due to negligence, such as damaged props, lower units, out-drives due to hitting the bottom and not tying to shoreline properly. You are also responsible for broken windows, holes in pontoons, broken rails, etc. However, we will not hold you responsible for damages due to normal wear.
