Meetings and Exclusive Hire Coaching inns have always made great meeting points. They are on important routes between market towns or cities, hold the promise of good ale and fine wines and have comfortable rooms for a good night’s sleep. Located on a winding high street off the main road to Henley (the old coach route from London to Oxford) sits an 11th Century coaching inn called The Olde Bell. Modern transport links (motorways!) now join The Olde Bell to London via the m4 and m40 within 40 minutes and to Heathrow in 20 minutes. Laid out like a village, the main inn houses the communal activities of eating and drinking, overnight guests and local diners while the neighbouring two buildings, the 16th Century Tithe Barn and the Victorian Malt House, host private meetings and gatherings. Stripped back and made simple by the celebrated designer Ilse Crawford, The Olde Bell has been renovated in the spirit of the English vernacular.

Eating and drinking is central to the inn and remain an important part of any meeting, using local suppliers from The Olde Bell’s own expanding and substantial kitchen garden, family butchers and neighbouring farms, the kitchen provides locally sourced food, served simply. With professional service and an authentic setting, The Olde Bell and its auxiliary buildings provide stylish accommodation and meeting spaces to companies or individuals who want to do good business.
