2: Educational qualifications

2.1 MRCS 2009 This is a membership diploma awarded by Royal College of Surgeons Ireland. This membership program consists of three parts. The first two parts comprise of two theoretical papers covering both basic medical science and general surgery, orthopaedics and vascular surgery and allied surgery. The third part again has three parts i.e. Viva, Communication skills and Clinical.Diploma is awarded after passing all these modules.

2.2 FCPS 2003 This is a fellowship diploma awarded by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan by examination at the end of five years training. This is a five years programme of international standard as paediatric surgical registrar with rotation in general surgery and all allied surgical specialties. There are other partial requirements for final fellowship examination which includes mandatory workshops and a dissertation. Mandatory workshops cover learning research methodology and biostatistics, surgical skills and computer skills and internet. Dissertation has a review and original work covering an important problem in the field. Board of examiners comprises of senior college fellows and fellows of sister royal colleges from UK and Middle East.

2.3 MBBS 1995

This is 6 years programme in Khyber Medical College Peshawar of basic medical sciences and clinical experience in general surgery, medicine, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology and gynecology and obstetrics. This is attached with Khyber Teaching Hospital which as a tertiary care hospital is providing medical facilities to the whole NWFP province and Afghanistan. This is a bachelor degree awarded by of world reputation. The sixth year is a compulsory internship in the tertiary care hospital for clinical experience for general practice.

2.3 Higher Secondary School Certificate 1989 (A LEVEL) I obtained 5 A level (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English & ) and got five A*. 2.4 Secondary School Certificate 1987 I obtained eight A and A- one in my GCSE equivalent examination.

2: District Specialist District Headquarters Hospital, Timergara KPK, Pakistan April 2014 to May 2015 3. Assist: Professor Khalifa Gul Nawaz Hospital/ DHQ Hospital, Bannu These are a group of teaching hospitals attached with Bannu Medical College recognized by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. They are tertiary hospital draining a vast area around Bannu up to the tribal area and Pak Afghan border. The hospital is equipped with all kinds of modern therapeutic and diagnostic facilities. The job of an assist Professor is twofold which is teaching the medical students as well as treating both congenital and acquired surgical problems of children.

2. Staff Physician/ Specialist National Guard Hospital, Alahsa One month locum in July 2010 and 49 days in 2011. This is a hospital recognized by Joint Commission International (JCI) which is an international body for evaluating hospitals around the world.

3. Specialist Paediatric Surgery Since Aug 2005 to April 2011 King Fahad Hospital Hofuf, Alahsa Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, This post is equivalent to a senior registrar. The hospital is a tertiary care centre for Al-Ahsa (Eastern province) of Saudi Arabia with 502 beds. It is a teaching hospital both for under and post graduate training. Paediatric Surgical unit is 30 bedded units supported by a well equipped paediatric ICU. There are three consultants, three specialists assisted by a group of residents and interns in the department. I deal with all kinds of paediatric surgical emergencies and cold cases. I attend outpatient clinics, operation theatre, and emergency room and take ward rounds. I have an experience in common paediatric surgical problems. I also assist my consultants in all major surgical operations like pull through for Hirschprung's disease, laparoscopic procedures and other congenital paediatric anomalies. I am actively involved in the postoperative management of these patients. I see both new and follow up cases in outpatient clinics. I enjoy a good working relationship with all staff in the department.

2 Medical officer Paediatric Surgery, Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar, Pakistan (Jul 2003 to Jul 2005) Lady Reading Hospital is a tertiary care hospital with all specialties. Paediatric surgical unit is a well equipped in dealing with all kinds of paediatric emergencies and cold cases. This unit has a team of consultants, medical officers (middle grade doctors), specialist registrars (post graduate trainees) and house officers. The unit is supported by a paediatric ICU and neonatal care unit. My role was a middle grade supporting trainee registrar's Rota. I attended outpatients clinics, took inpatient ward rounds and operation theatre in addition to emergency on calls. It was a very busy job which provided me a great practical experience and had an opportunity to do a number of routine and emergency surgical procedures independently. I had a support of my senior colleagues in case of help. It gave me an opportunity to work in a busy unit as an anchor between my trainee and senior colleagues. Being an academic unit I participated in all postgraduate clinical meetings.

3.Trainee Medical officer (Specialist Registrar) Khyber Teaching Hospital, Peshawar, Pakistan from Jan 1999 to Jun 2003. Khyber Teaching Hospital is a tertiary care hospital attached to Khyber Medical College; Peshawar. It is one of the four major medical institutions in the province. It serves as a tertiary care centre for North West Frontier Province and neighboring Afghanistan. Paediatric Surgery unit is a 30 bedded ward supported by a paediatric ICU, neonatal ICU and special care baby unit. It is a professorial unit. This was a part of my clinical training for final part of fellowship (FCPS). It gave me a good opportunity for hand in experience. I benefited to experience of my senior colleagues. It was an opportunity to teach medical students as well. It was a structured training programme under supervision by the College of Physicians & Surgeons, Pakistan. I had to ensure to cover all surgical procedures, ward rounds, clinical presentations, emergency on calls etc and to complete college's log book and workshops before final examination.
