I remember an ironic phrase I read long time ago, in a church bulletin, under a cartoon:
“The Spirit will bring you the Truth. What if the truth hurts?!” We usually pray: “Come Holy Spirit; fill the hearts of your faithful ….,” but what is hidden in the above quote, is that we should pray for the Spirit of Wisdom to enter our hearts. The coming of the Holy Spirit has been anticipated and promised by Jesus. The Jews celebrate Pentecost, which means fifty days after Passover (Lev. 23:15 M 21). So it hap- pened on this feast day that the Holy Spirit descended on the apostles. In many religious traditions, fire accompanies, or represents the presence of the Divine. For example in Zoroas- trian temples, there is always a fire burning. We usually have ORDINATION TO THE PRIESTHOOD a candle in a red container by the Tabernacle.
